UAW to try to unionize Hundai

Boeing broke the law plan and simple and I'm pretty suprised they were either dumb enough to do it or they thought they had bought off enough politicans to get away with it. All the union did was point out that Boeing broke the law and somehow it gets turned into how the union is the one to blame. Of course that's what happens when you only read the headlines and not the whole story.

The LAST thing that the unions want is for Boeing to open up a plant in a right to work state. That's why this is an issue.

That might work in a very small company were everyone is under a microscope, but go work for a larger company and see what happens.

They still fire people. There is just more paperwork to do and more approvals to get first.

Oh, and as far as squeezing a few more bucks out of hyundai? Sure, if they unionized that might happen. But Hyundai would likely respond with job cuts and the whole thing would go downhill. People were not dragged into the Hyundai plant and forced to work at gunpoint; those people are HAPPY to have a nice paying job, and they are not about to upset the apple cart.

I worked in three union shops under two different unions, Teamsters and UAW and I now work in a white collar environment and have been doing so for 15 years.

But I guess your story from your sister's brother's cousin's housekeeper who saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors last night makes more sense.

Any other angle you want to try to claim i don't know what I'm talking about? We've gone from "You're a liar" to "Well every place has lots of worthless people so that makes it ok" to "things have changed". Where else you want to go with this?

Ignoring that which does not concern our immediate interests is a fine plan FreightTrain. Maybe the lazy fucks are all members of the UAW. At my job it's hard to be lazy. First off it's not back braking mind numbing work. You're paid to get on a train and get it over the road in one piece in a timely manner. Kind of hard to be lazy doing that. We actually make more money per hour the faster we get the train from point A to B.

I went to a apprentice school for 5 years to learn my trade, therefore the people in my trade take pride in what we do. If your ok with letting a non-union company come in and just let anybody pipe up a nuke or a boiler where your kids go to school and just hope nothing ever goes wrong than more power to you. I know there is non-union people out there that do good work, but you would be surprised by how often we have to go in and fix all there work. So am I scared that I'm gonna get paid for what I'm worth??? No not at all.
