Looks like I can scratch "Used Silverado/Sierra" off the truck search.

I know you had lifetime bumper to bumper... but emissions problems are on a different scale.
Should have fought that one.

I've been a chevy truck guy since I started driving; never had a major problem and seen their gas engines last a really long time under harsh conditions. I currently have an '05 that is paid off, and I plan to keep it until it just stops working, but I won't buy another GM product solely because of the bailout. We went straight to Toyota when my wife was ready for a used vehicle. Ford would have been on the list of possible purchases had I not driven their shitty 2004 pickups in the Air Force. Those things has zero power and a rough ride.I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.
Sex with an Asian woman is great, but 30 minutes later you're horny again.

Also go compare a 2010 Tahoe to a 2001 Tahoe.. or even a new chevy truck to your 2005. They have gone downhill.
My mother had a 2001 Tahoe and it was very nice. Never had an issue. She went and test drive an 09 a few yrs back and the salesman said... what you think... her response was... i'll keep my 01. haha She then went and bought a Navigator.

Obama Motors
When Buckwheat took over GM and Chrysler, I said that all future cop cars, school buses, and government vehicles would be GM or Chrysler. Everybody laughed at me, and said I was full of shit. Well, in the town where I live there is a contractor that outfits cop cars for the state. You used to be able to see 50 to 100 Crown Vics waiting for lights, spots, cages, etc. The other day when I went by, there was a lot full of Tahos or some GM type of SUV. Here is how I think it goes......."If you want your federal highway money or a grant for police use, buy GM." Think maybe Ford saw that coming and ditched the Crown Victoria ? Look for school buses to be GMC's and not Internationals. But, what do I know, I am just a dumb red neck.

The federal government let them pull this crap. I can't fault them for not wanting to pay for things they never agreed to as part of the bailout but it's crap if they are taking care of the repairs for fleet customers but putting the bone to retail folks. You either assume liability or you don't, if you take care of the problem for one customer you should take care of it for all of them. In my opinion they are basically telling non fleet customers to go to hell.
I'll never buy a product from the "New GM" and I can't believe any other educated consumer would either.

You would think that GM would have learned a lesson about customer service and pissing off customers with their shitty cars and shitty service from the late 70s/80s, but apparently they have not. People flocked in droves away from GM to the imports back then. I guess that if GM keeps this up we'll see history repeat itself again once a new generation learns the same old lesson.
I have two classic GM cars but would never consider buying a new one AT ALL.
