  • I told you it was Bush's fault!

Summary: Nouriel Roubini says George W Bush is to blame for the current economic crisis. He lists 5 factors for going from a $300 billion surplus to a $1.2 trillion deficit

    1. We cut taxes.
    2. We spent $2 trillion on unwinnable wars.
    3. We doubled discretionary spending.
    4. We added entitlement benefits like Medicare drug benefit.
    5. We entered the largest economic and financial crisis ever that was made worse by bailouts to the banks and other institutions.

Somehow the article has conveniently forgotten to point out that if Bush started the fire, Obama poured rocket fuel on top of it. Sure, Obama isn't responsible for a lot of the mess we're in, but when is someone going to point out that he's made it worse and is doing NOTHING to make it better?

He personally trained the pilots that crashed into the WTC towers and Cheney's weather machine caused Katrina.

Barry has more than doubled Dubya's deficit...in 2.5 years, and has nothing to show for it. Obama-care hasn't even kicked in yet. What about that $800 billion "stimulus" that did nothing?

You do realize I'm laughing at the article right? It's only half the story. Unfortunately, it's not he most important and current half -- the one every American needs to be paying attention to right now.

We should be past the fucking blame game, but we're not. It's a bunch of titty babbies in power, and no more tit to suckle. Blah Blah Blah, finger point, finger point.

We are all to blame. Now lets move onto a solution, or free up your chair for someone who has the answers.

Oh, I know. You can always tell it's a bullshit article as soon as you see "MSN" or "Huffington Post" somewhere on the page.

Flip-flop much? Here's your take on Obama after his first 100 days.

Not really. Notice I have stated exactly the same. I said I was willing to give it a chance. I did, and it obviously isn't working. You can search away and you'll find where I stated I didn't support Obama but was tired of the Bush routine. It was bitterly disappointing that the Republicans had nothing to trot out against him besides the same old, rundown, overused positions.

Bush did turn the surplus into the largest deficit we'd seen at the time. Unfortunately, Obama put more on the pass line and rolled craps. I think more spending right away was worth a shot since in some areas it was a bit more guided. Then, everyone went overboard. Now, we should replace everyone in D.C. regardless of their part affiliation.

No problem, this explains it well enough. Agree with the last sentence completely.

FWIW - a black "muslim" whose middle name is Hussein, last name rhymes with Osama, with questionable political dealings in his home state, who may not have been born in this country beat a white war hero in an election.

People were sick of Bush/Republicans. Bush didn't even speak at the RNC during the election.

Obama didn't beat McCain, Bush administration did.

That would be a statement if there ever was one if no incumbent won at the next 2 elections. Maybe then elected officials would get off their ass and do their job.

How much federal funds in the form of estimate taxes were lost when the dot com bubble burst? How much was lost when the stock market crashed and the economy tanked afterwards?
