It seems as if the market controls everything... it is driven down by fear... yet the driving down is what instills the fear in people. It just seems that people's investments control way too much of our lives.

I'd say yes. The world of man existed for 10's of thousands of years without a stock market. We just need to hurry up and invent automated farming and water purification robots. Then the stock market can go suck it for all I care. I mean I guess I could do the work myself, but I'd rather stay inside and play video games than grow food.Comment

The market doesn't control everything, it reacts to everything. People have too much in it so that IT controls THEM. It moves tons of money that will never see consumers' hands.Comment
