If that's the way you feel, then suggest lawmakers create a bill to make its way to law. The property was rented before to someone else, so it's reasonable to assume it was going to be rented again. Do you think the POTUS is paying for the space SS sleeps in while in D.C? This isn't the first time SS has had to rent space in the line of duty, and I'm willing to bet it's not the first time they've had to rent space from the person they are protecting. There is nothing wrong at all with this unless the rent amount is out of line with what other rentals in the area would be. For all we know, they could be saving taxpayers money if rent somewhere else would cost more.

I'm jumping on the "who gives a shit" bus. The rent costs the same as the last people were paying. Protection is provided to him as part of his job. I feel like this is pretty straight forward.

It's a chicken shit move no doubt, but not that big of a deal.

They would pay rent whether they were there or at another property. He would get the same rent whether it was the SS or someone else.

Sure would be mighty white of him if he saved the taxpayer a couple bucks and let his protection stay there for free, but he's a scumbag politician. Why ever would he do something beneficial to those he serves???

And I'm saying that if you're having secret service guard your life, you should provide them accommodations.

Again, you feel this way all the time and have for a long time? Does Bush still have protection? I think he finally sent them packing, didn't he? When they were with him, do you think he was putting them up for free? This is the way the system is setup to work. It's not in bad taste or a problem what Biden is doing. I'm sure that has been done before and will be done again. I don't see the logic in the protectee providing lodging for the protectors, but if the law changes then so be it.

Yes, I believe Bush should provide accommodations and have not seen proof he doesn't.
