If I were a general, I'd want to keep those guys alive. I agree with Patton on the matter.

Right. There's no need to do it now. We can just drone it up these days.

Forgive my ignorance on the subject but aren't NK and SK still technically at war because they only signed a cease fire in 1953? What does it take to "officially" negate a cease fire?

Is it even possible with NK's media blackout to accurate gauge the percentage of people that know their government is run by a lunatic?

Correct. It also has no expiration. All it "officially" takes is for one side to claim that the other violated it. Moderators like the UN, NATO, etc. can either agree or disagree with the assessment, but so far it has never been a deciding factor (see several mideast treaties for reference).

As for the common people being ignorant to KJI's sham, if the country is supplied fuels, food and money by the US just to sustain life and the poverty-stricken people see shit like KJI's military parades and nuke plants, they catch on real quick. This is no exaggeration... not one person is "well-off" in North Korea unless he/she has KJI's permission.

I know that their ground forces are significant in number because that's the only way for the average person to make any sort of life for themselves. I'm tired of the precedence that's been set of dealing with despots with kid gloves and foreign aid. Stupid diplomacy.

Thank goodness I just get to complain and not responsible for offering any real solutions.

I feel you pain, bro. There are always attempts within NK to plot mutiny. Too bad nothing gets accomplished. Maybe facing a war against the south and the US again will be just what it takes to have their people finally do what they should have done long ago.

India has a smaller active force, larger total force. Not to mention we are selling them a bunch of new toys and their flag grade officers are vets of the last war with Pakistan. I wouldn't want to fuck with India while supporting nks retarded ass, plus all the internal problems they're having from their large Muslim population in the west.

US and Sorth Korea set to begin military exercises

Tensions remains high as the US and South Korea begin military exercises, five days after the North's deadly shelling of a Southern island.

The US aircraft carrier the USS George Washington and four other US navy vessels will be joined by South Korean destroyers, patrol vessels, frigates, support ships and anti-submarine aircraft.

The drills are expected to take place about 125km (77 miles) south of the disputed maritime border between the two Koreas, about 40km off the Korean coast.

The aircraft carrier is likely to be stationed further south in international waters, but still technically within striking range of Chinese cities.

A statement from North Korea's official KCNA news agency said: "If the US brings its carrier to the West Sea of Korea (Yellow Sea), no-one can predict the ensuing consequences."

Our military is vastly improved since the 50s...their's hasnt changed much. They will get steamrolled with or without Red China's help. Yeah, we may lose some troops, but that's war. There are worse things than dying for your country.

/thread In 1950 the majority of American units were gutted with post WW2 Truman cuts. It wasn't until they called up all the reservists who were in reality just WW2 vets hanging around that the morale and leadership of the lower ranks improved.
