our politicians are not smart enough to read through all the hype coming from the banks. it seems every couple of months the banks try and hold the government hostage by telling them if they dont do this or hand over so much cash, then the US economy would collapse and there would be massive lay offs and unemployment. bush and obama both fell into the banks bull shit. neither president did, or has done, a very good job when it comes to creating jobs.

John Lott wrote an article a year ago, comparing USA and Canada Stimulus bills and unemployment. In short, Canada spent less and has less unemployment.

Take Canada, whose economy is closely tied to ours and who is our largest trading partner. The Canadian stimulus package was nowhere as extensive as ours. Their stimulus spending of $22.7 billion last year and $17.2 billion, this year, amounts to about 7.5 percent of their federal spending for their 2009 and 2010 budgets — about a third of the per-capita stimulus spending in the United States.

Has Canadian unemployment climbed higher than ours because of their relative inaction? Hardly.
