  • Does the constitution still matter?

    According to Time magazine, no.

There is nothing wrong with the Constitution. There is something wrong with the accountability of the people who are in office who can ignore it with impunity. The Constitution was written when the population was small, and things could be sent to the Supreme Court relatively quickly to get resolved. The country has become so big and litigious, that the checks and balances system is out of alignment. Fix that, you fix the problem. That, and eliminate Lobbyists.

You had me up until the point where you said the supreme court moved relatively quickly in the toddler years of this nation. Do a little research on the early history of the courts and you'd be amazed at how insignificant it was prior to the concept of judicial review.

Some would risk life and limb to defend it. Others, mainly elected liberals, not so much.

Supreme Court was not a valued position until well into the 1800's.

Constitution doesn't matter to our politicians as they have angled to make any ability to uphold it a terroristic threat.
