I find it sad, but not really surprising, that the vast majority of the news articles I’ve read today about the debate has very little at the end of the article or simply no mention at all of Ron Paul. The fact is that he has been almost spot on with his predictions in the economy and the war on terror, two huge factors in the media today that will most likely decide the next president. He has no scandals, served in the military, was a doctor, and is still married to the same woman for like 50 years. Yet some folks say he is unelectable? Because he says what he truly believes and actually cares for the future of our country and not just the next four years? I don’t get it. I feel like he is maybe the only one, if nominated, who could win against Obama. The way I see it is the democrats are going to vote D the republicans are going to vote R and the Independents will probably mostly vote D again this time around with anyone but Paul. However, Paul has a very substantial following of voters and will sway the bulk of all people near middle or undecided along with the automatic GOP voters.

I'm not a Democrat but nice try. Though, it is somewhat of a revenue issue. The federal debt would be a at a much more sustainable level today had the Bush tax cuts not been passed.

Right, which is why, with taxes being at their lowest levels since 1950 and corporations declaring record profits, the job market has been relatively stagnant. Makes sense.

That chart is totally subjective. There is clearly a debate about the long term results of supply-side economic policy but there is absolutely zero denying that it works and works tremendously well (and did for nearly 30 years).

As a former business owner I can tell you this, other business owners are scared shitless of any type of investment, hiring, purchases and so on because they don't have a clue what the world will look like in 6 months. Obama is uncertainty. Until he is gone and a real leader takes his place then this economy will be the status quo. Someone gets in there tomorrow and cuts taxes and you will see immediate gains in the economy, unemployment will drop and people will open their wallets again. Until that happens you see purchases out of necessity instead of discretionary spending.

The reason? Fear. Does buying that TV today make sense if there is a potential to lose your job? No.

We have the highest corporate taxes in the world. Businesses aren't spending all that money they make into our economy...hence a poor economy.

Tax cuts have to go through congress, and can take months even years to pass and then go into effect. I want to know what each candidate is going to do in their first 100 days to stimulate job growth.

personally I do not think you can throw money at this problem in the form of cash or in the form of tax cuts, and expect job creation. as a business owner I hire people because the work load requires it, it has nothing to do with the government giving me money or tax cuts.
