How much longer can wages go up 10% a year before it makes sense to manufacture in Detroit? Keep in mind it isn't free to ship shit across the ocean. As I said, it can't go on forever, China can't be an emerging market forever. The thing is, when the shit hits the fan the government is still a communist regime that has no problem murdered a million of its citizens to keep order. When the economy is rosy the commies can put away their guns, when the shit hits the fan you'll see that the friends of chairman Mao are still alive and well.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

china can not feed themselves. what farm land they have they have polluted so bad it will not produce. that is why they are buying farm land in africa.
the real estate bubble is about to burst now. along with inflation they are about to get a taste of it. even if they buy the whole town we can regulate their ass back to china.
the one thing they have always wanted was to find a way to get rid of us but not harm the country. china is a really shitty piece of land. rivers that are devoid of life . the 3 gorges damn has fucked the whole water system there. this drought will do them in. when people cant eat they get a little pissed off .

If my googling and math is correct that is around 32,000 acres they'd do that on.
Now, I'm not saying there are not a 1001 ways to make it a total pain in the ass for them - but we have to watch what we wish for...

With all the outsourcing of manufacturing to China we've done over the last 20 years it seems as if we've outsourced some of our unemployment as well.
As the world economy crumbles many businesses that manufactured products in China have failed leaving giant factory after giant factory empty.
Cnbc (I think) made a special about China that showed some of this as well as some of their pollution.
About a year ago some chick I went to college with linked to some pics from China on her facebook that some journalist friend had taken. More abandoned warehouses than detroit and "rivers" made up of different colored sludge with dead birds stuck in it.
On another China related note, had another friend that visited and went to Tienanmen Square, she wanted to know where the guy that stood in front of the tank was. The Chinese person guiding the tour had no clue what she was talking about. It's crazy to think that most people in the modern world probably would recognize the image, but in a nation with state controlled media they have no idea the man ever existed.US Politics in three words - Divide and Conquer
