Who will get the Republican nomination for 2012?

I have to say... Ron Paul is REAL popular at my work(employer of 5k+)...

Hit me with that list of plenty, because I've yet to run across a single truly viable candidate. It'd make my day if you toss Palin out there.

She's not on my short list, but she's better than what we have. What do you feel "disqualifies" any of them?

Herman Cain,Tim Pawlenty, and Mitt Romney come to mind. Not necessarily in that order.

Romney- a two-faced drone that will end up as a poster child for the string-pullers.

Pawlenty- Decent on social issues, but is a carbon tax in GOP clothing and too "dull" to go up against the current American Idol in office.

Cain- HAHAHAHA!!!! A businessman with a few cute fixes for a few issues, but would drop some serious woopsies on many other categories outside of the few economic points he has made.

All of which are better than we have. You won't find ONE candidate troughout history that is "perfect". You're still talking Paul (who is also better than we have), and hammering these guys? It won't happen.

The problem with Paul is that he would be too much of an advantage for the people and less for the controlling government.

You have to remember this:

The ones that actually put us on this course for self-destruction are very powerful AND they did it on purpose. They are also the ones that come up with all these time-wasting plans (for both sides) and have them bicker it out in front of us on TV, like something is getting accomplished while the course continues. They are also the ones that decide on who gets the nod to face off with their golden child.

If you think sitting here, arguing which candidate is best, then heading to the polls will do anything, they've already won.

Also remember this: at this point in 1979, Reagan was just a "washed-up B-movie actor" who didn't have a prayer. I mean, after all, who would elect an actor?

my guess is perry will run and maybe get the backing. not too fond of governor good hair but he might take on the dems. paul is too far out there for me. he gets going good then wanders off to nana land sometimes. i think he just spooks too many people sometimes.
i do believe this country needs to do a 180 . fuck the rest of the world. let them kill each other then mop up whats left. no matter who wins i want the damn borders sealed first , period.

The country could do worse than Perry, and we've already proven we can. It amazes me that no viable candidate will even touch the border issues. It's become a "sacred cow", of sorts.
When the smoke clears, whoever is left standing will get my vote.
