Yeah, you keep saying this, except it isn't in the same area as this lizard.

And, you completely failed to address the example I gave before, ANWR and the porcupine caribou, the reason drilling is not allowed is due to the 'calf birthing area'. Even the U.S Fish and Wildlife said we should drill there, and yet the tree-huggers got their way.

As I said before, all it takes is a group of tree-huggers, their lawyers, and a liberal judge to make something like this happen:

I don't agree with it, fuck the lizard, my well-being trumps a fucking lizards, I'm just telling you it doesn't take much to make shit like this to happen. Tree-huggers are making more and more land each year be off limits to the public. I am familiar with this, as it is happening to the offroad crowd more each year.

          Stevo,

some people are just fucking dense.

Do yourself a favor and do something similar:

you will find relief every time you visit this forum .

that is unless someone quotes their retarded posts.... try not to read them.
It's amazing, how dumbassery is such an real attention getter.
i guess americas funniest videos learned how to capitalize on that....and youtube

Stevo is right on here. The liberal tree huggers have been doing this for fucking years in every state. They find a protected (by law) status such as endangered species , or 'sound pollution' then no one can fucking drive a 4x4 there or ride a dirt bike , whatever.
It doesn't harm anything most of the time these types of activities. Yet they gulp up more and more land as 'protected' . Believe me , I'm a boy scout , outdoorsman, hunter, conservationist and all that , yet I still have no fucking idea what their goal actually is in all this. All they really accomplish is a bunch of litigation and land grabbing. Most of their consitutants are totally and completely liberal . So that must be where they attract the donations to support all of this nonsense.

just last week texas passed legislation, making texas home to nuclear waste from all over the world, a site that will poison the environment around it, and turn a portion of texas into a waste land, but that didnt stop them either.

but if someone wants to poke a few holes in the ground, a simple lizard can stop all that? No way

either they are doing something else with the property other then putting up a few drill sites, or they missed something when purchasing the property and its going to cost them a bunch of money.
They are not a threat to endangered birds. Plenty of other countries have them in the migration routes of birds, and they do just fine.

I think more birds die flying into windows than into windmills

I'm not real smart, but if the oil wells mess with the lizards, then why are they still there for the libs to worry about . If we KNOW they are there, the the wells must not bother them.

You guys need to realize everything our government does is so they can bankrupt everyone and beat us with sticks in the streets like the Greeks are getting right now.

There are over 1 trillion barrels if oil in Utah the EPA won't let us touch either.

                          Another article about the lizard:

EDITORIAL: Govt May Jeopardize Oil Production for Lizardby

                          Wayne Laugesen|The Gazette, Colorado Springs, Colo.|Thursday, June 02, 2011

Fears of a stalling economy sent the Dow on a 280-point plummet Wednesday. Housing values fell to their lowest in 10 years. Federal estimates of 180,000 new private-sector jobs in May fell short by 142,000.

Pain at the pump approaches $4 a gallon, which makes it difficult to prosper and create jobs.

In this time of economic burden, our federal government suddenly wants to protect the dunes sagebrush lizard. The tiny brown lizard lives among oak shrubs on Texas sand dunes, amid some of country's most productive oil wells.

The U.S. Fish And Wildlife Service, bolstered by activists, wants to list the lizard as endangered. In doing so, the government could shut down or hinder production of up to 1 million barrels of oil a day.

There is no proof that oil production threatens extinction of the lizards, and they are not confined to the dunes above Texas oil deposits. It appears as just another effort to exploit the cause of an obscure species at a tremendous risk to the fundamental welfare of humans. It is similar, though many times more serious, to the economic growth barriers erected in Colorado by an urgent need to save the Preble's meadow jumping mouse. The mice are plentiful in Colorado and Wyoming, but environmentalists and the federal government want to protect them only in Colorado -- where they come in useful for impeding economic growth.

"Bad science leads to bad policy," Texas land commissioner Jerry Patterson wrote in the Austin American-Statesman. "And that defines the current administration's domestic energy policy that seeks to close off more and more areas to oil and gas production. A policy which can be summed up as: 'Not here.'"

Our economy needs oil in order to create prosperity and jobs. Without economic growth, we can forget about maintaining federal entitlements and the quality of life enjoyed by all classes of Americans.

Let's be good to God's tiny creatures, taking reasonable measures to ensure their ability to survive. But let's not look for symbolic opportunities to strain to our economy by killing jobs, raising fuel costs and making Americans even more dependent on foreign oil. Let's save the humans, too.

The Bureau of Land Management is actually having public meetings to discuss the oil shales there (and CO, WY) to their plans for opening up that area for production.

There is already a sizable amount of nuclear waste in west Texas(outside of Midland). My uncle is a Geochemist who oversees the site in regards to environmental impact. I think the trend is likely to continue.

I agree that this species of lizard shouldn't prevent further exploration/production, it seems like some tree hugger bullshit.

No sir! Just make a roundup of approximately around 10,000 lizards then have them reproduce in a contained area, dig the shit out of that oil, and then reintroduce them once we dont need the dunes anymore. Problem solved.
