That is one of the most retarded analogies I've ever heard.

How exactly are they forcing anything down your throat? Let's look at this for a second. The argument could be made that YOU are forcing your beliefs down their throat, by not allowing them any recognition, any rights, etc. And it's all based on your Religious beliefs. You are shoving your religious beliefs down their thraot, because their "perversions" and "faggotry" (your words, not mine) is something that goes against your religious beliefs. You do realize not all believe in God, right? Let's just agree that you're a hypocrite of the highest order. That's far nicer than anything else I could say, based from your close minded, bigoted posts.

So, it's all the gays fault. I see. Disney holds no liability, right? I mean, Disney is the one that agreed to all of this. Never mind the FACT that your coworker is a dumbass that lacks personal responsiblity. I don't give two shits if she had a travel agent or not. It's her duty to do her own research, unless she blindly goes through life believing what others tells her, instead of researching things on her own. Man, such a lack of responsibility, she might as well be on welfare! Disney has been a longtime supporter of the gay and lesbian community. Half if not more of their employees are gay/lesbian. This is COMMON PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, and has been for a decade or more. Boycott Disney if it's such an issue. No merchandise, no movies, no vacations, no cruises, etc. Oh, and no Pixar while you are at it!

Belief or non-belief in God, or religious beliefs, has nothing to do with many people stigmatizing gays. That is a gross oversimplification and incorrect assumption on your part. Gays simply provide an easy target for ridicule among those so inclined, and some may need to feel justified to do so by their own interpretation of their professed religious beliefs. Doesn't make their interpretation right by any means, and no true believer in God stigmatizes anyone. Is it considered a sin by many religions? Yes, and so are many other things.

Perhaps an assumption on my part. The argument I always hear about not letting gays marry is because it "goes against God." That is the ONLY argument against gay marriage that I've ever heard, read, etc. If you have another legitimate argument, I'm all ears. I'll wait.

Why? Because they are different? So are african Americans, Latinos, women, etc. People fear what they don't understand. I get that. But I don't see how they are any bigger a target than someone else who is not a white, heterosexual male.

That, and that we have much bigger fish to fry. With Barry and his socialist agenda, to the left ripping apart and doing all they can to devalue the dollar, the Constitution, etc.

I'm just giving props where they're due. The bigotry by others in this thread is pretty fucking disgusting.

I personally don't care whether gays marry. Why are you looking for an argument to the contrary?

I made an assumption that the only reason most people don't want them getting married is religious reasons, as that is the only argument I've ever seen. You said I was wrong. So I'm just trying to hear what any other argument might be. You notice nobody else has posted up denying it...

That's what it all boils down to. The sanctitity of marriage, and that it goes against God. That's all they've got.

Because of you're condescending attitude, your eagerness to bash anyone that's not you, etc. You also have a storied history of immediately resorting to calling people fags, queers, rump rangers, etc any time someone disagrees with you. Don't get me wrong, I call people fags all the time. But they are friends, and they are not gay.

No, I posted that many peoples stance on religion or God have nothing to do with their stigmatizing gays. I said nothing regarding gay marriage, and stigmatizing goes far beyond simply being opposed or not to marraige.

Then why are they stigmatizing them, if it has nothing to do with religion? This is heading towards a religious debate. Right about now is the part where you, being Christian, tell me to disprove it. Then I, being agnostic, tell you to prove it. Then we circle jerk for the next 3 days, arguing over something that can't be proven.

In many cases it has nothing to do with religion. The reasons people stigmatize gays can be varied; they may be uncomfortable around them and crack jokes to ease their own distress, they may want someone to look down on so their own miserable lives seem better, or they may just not know how and when to mind their own business.

I agree with you that a religious angle is often used in opposition to gay marriage and to a lesser extent gay lifestyles, but all religious folk certainly don't hold a monopoly on intolerance.

Did you ever stop to think that its an issue for more than one side? Of course you didn't. As for the big government, you again display your piss poor knowledge of how the government actually works. The fags are the ones who want to involve the government. I know you don't know this, but the law was already in place that defines marriage. You have to involve the government to change this. Now who was it that wanted big brother to help them again? Hmm... yeah. It was your little fags. Not their opposition.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to reject your beg to differ. This thread was started to discuss this type of thing, was it not? Am I the one who started the thread? Ask yourself that before you tell me that I'm pissing and moaning, and not just arguing my point of view.

I would say that you're just too dumb to understand it, but yet, you still feel the need to incorporate the analogy into your own argument against me. So you're not dumb, this is just a failed jab.

I'll leave out your unfounded assumptions that my bias is based on some kind of religious belief. But again, my side of the isle is not the one that actually raised the issue. There was a sort of norm, and the gays felt the need to break that norm and go against it and demand special privileges and rights that were not previously allocated. So who is trying to change who. Who is pissing and moaning and crying out that something isn't fair.

Of course they're going to lobby for their assistance. Who else is going to help them? That doesn't change the fact that the right is being absurdly hypocritical by openly legislating for same-sex marriage bans.

A guy defending fags talking about class. Course its what I've come to expect from you people. Equal rights. They already had all the same rights as anyone else. Do the cops raid gay bars and beat them half to death anymore? Or do they now have to treat them like anyone else? Are they hunted down and killed just cause they're different now? Last I checked, doing that is murder which in many states is punishable by death. So I dare say their "equal rights" have come as far as they can. But go ahead and just keep trying to defy basic human nature. So far it seems to work really well... if you have no idea that there is such a thing as human history. And if you think I'm upset, maybe you just don't come around here very often cause this is how I always talk. Post. Whatever. No one on the internet really has the power to make me upset. You'd have to do it in person, I'm afraid.

Is your head so far up your ass you don't keep up with current events? Don't answer that, it's rhetorical. I already know the answer is yes. This was two years ago... Not forty.

Members of the North Texas gay community are calling for action after they say law enforcement roughed up patrons at a gay bar.
