Ok, not really much of a conspiracy theory, just a thought on some of the things going on.
So the President goes on TV and tells everyone that the orders were to capture or kill UBL. He states that there was a firefight and a UBL is killed as a result. We also hear reports that a woman was used as a human shield. We're also told that Paki intelligence was in on the operation.
Later we hear that the woman wasn't a human shield. The Paki's were not involved at all.
So today the President decides that the photos and any other video does not need to be released to the public. We don't need to spike the football. They fear blowback and all that jazz.. Panetta even admits that there is a 25 minute blackout of the video of the actual raid. Panetta also said "The authority here was to kill bin Laden. And obviously, under the rules of engagement, if he had in fact thrown up his hands, surrendered and didn't appear to be representing any kind of threat, then they were to capture him. But they had full authority to kill him."
"To be frank, I don't think he had a lot of time to say anything. It was a firefight going up that compound. And by the time they got to the third floor and found bin Laden, I think it - this was all split-second action on the part of the Seals."
But now we get the photos of the scene. It looks less and less like there really was a gunfight. Its looking like UBL didn't get any chance to surrender. It is looking like an assassination.
SEALs are killing machines, but they are damn disciplined killing machines. They don't off someone intentionally without orders to do so...
So what is the cover up? IMO, the President didn't tell SEAL Team Six to CAPTURE or Kill UBL. He told them to OFF THAT MUTHA FUCKER! Now there are some real political and diplomatic repercussions if that is the case. I think the political blowback is mostly from his own party so he needs to cover his ass. The diplomatic part is obvious...
That's why they don't want those photos or videos release. Not for a while at least..
I welcome your assessment of my crackpottery...
