  • Dead Flowers- Fort Worth

Isn't someone's brother in this band? I was in the W 7th area and saw that they're playing Magnolia Motor Lounge, so the gf and I stopped in. Good chance to see them without driving to Dallas.

    I believe that's Yolo's brother.

Yale's brother. I, along with Matt, Marty, Cliff, and a few others from here will be going to see them in Dallas next week I believe.

Fucking A, dude! I'm glad (I hope?) you enjoyed them. They put on a pretty fun show. My little brother plays bass for them.

Next month, Brent. It's July 26th. They'll be opening for Reckless Kelly at the Granada.

EDIT: Wait, is this an upcoming show, OP?

Nope, it was last night. Damn good show! The opening song was so-so, but everything else kicked ass. They sat behind us on the patio for a good while before the show, seemed like nice guys.

I don't know how they felt about playing there, but I thought it was a great venue. Very small/intimate setting, they opened up the roll-up door to the patio and the music sounded great out there, stage is pretty high so we still had a great view from out on the patio, etc.. Overall, a great show, and I agree with the other thread that you should go check them out because it's going to get harder and harder to see them in small venues like this. I think they're on the same path as Reckless Kelly, Mickey and the Motorcars, Eli Young Band, etc..

I'm a busy man, Yale. I can't be bothered with details.
