Salt Lick BBQ outside of Austin
03-23-2011, 07:36 AM
Who all has been there? I would say it was the best BBQ I have ever had. We plan to go back down to float the river in may or june and will be hitting up the Salt Lick again. The smoked turkey was hands down the best!

Seems to be hit or miss. I've been when it's really good, and I've been when it's been really bad. It's been bad more times than good though.

This.
I've come to the conclusion I will not be going back ever again.

If you're already heading down I35, Vitek's should be your first BBQ stop, unless you're willing to detour to Lockhart and really get crazy.
