Expeditionary cooking in Africa

Just cause we are in a shit hole doesn't mean we can't eat well every now and then.

Went to the butcher in town. Not for those with weak stomachs.


Hot plate and pan seared the steak.


Then tossed in a toaster oven
. We had to move out if the tent. It would have lingered for weeks on our clothes etc if we cooked all that steak in the tent.


Meat for 10 plus


Panzanella salad, fresh tomatoes, cucumber, onion, stale bread, olives and a homemade dressing.


Rice, beans and now we eat.

Awesome! I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice. I still haven't had good chicken curry like I did in Afghanistan when the Indians would come back from vacation and bring spices from home.
