I was a test dummy for the University of New Mexico. Out of the many we tried, they had some sort of hybrid Bhut Jalokia the screwed me up for a while. The funny thing is, I was able to eat a whole pepper. After the first few seconds (which was an eternity), my whole mouth and throat went numb.

We've had a bottle of it at my office for about a 8 months and it gets used often (in small amounts). Reaper Squeezins is the name of the sauce and it's rated at 5M on the Scoville scale.

I don't really get off on the spicy food thing. I can stand a fair amount of heat, but I just don't get the ultra-hot thing...

with that said... I was in CA for work, and my wife's friend's boyfriend moved into a duplex that had a little thai chili plant in the garden. holy mother fuck.

I don't know what the scoville rating was, but a little sliver about 3/16" long and 1/4" diameter chewed up had tears and saliva literally streaming out of my face while standing over the sink. It took a couple minutes for it to really kick in.

I was rewarded with a nice endorphin high afterwords, but not good enough to seek out more. I guess I've just done too many real drugs in my life to go chasing a burnt mouth

I'd like to try a ghost pepper one time, but never got around to it so far. Ghost pepper sauces...etc, but not a straight pepper in something or otherwise straight.

Habaneros are beyond my limits (use sparingly) so I know a ghost pepper is going to mess my day up, but still want to try it to see if I can even taste anything besides pain. I'll have sugar, milk/ice cream and baby wipes around for the following 24 hours.

I'd not see the point of anything hotter than ghost though....I'd imagine you don't taste a single thing.
