If you're forced, the jalapeƱo cheddar sausage sandwich isn't half bad.You don't have to be a pit master when it comes to sausage.

I had lockhart for the first time recently, blew my mind, absolutely incredible, I don't even want to eat "BBQ" anywhere else anymore.

I grabbed Pecan Lodge for the first time on Sunday - pretty fucking phenomenal. Went to the express line and grabbed "the trough" ... had my food within 10 minutes of parking my car.

Agreed! I think the brisket from Pecan Lodge is fucking awesome but their ribs IMO are still lacking. I put their ribs on par with Lockhart but Pecan Lodge has a superior brisket.

So what did "The Trough" run you?

It was $69 - got brisket, pulled pork, pork ribs, a beef rib, and sausage. It says it feeds 4-5 people, doesn't come with sides. I bought 2 large sides and the total was $96. Fed 5 adults, 1 toddler, and had leftovers for 2 meals.

That's really not that bad, considering BBQ prices are high as hell. I'm too lazy to look... How much of each meat was included?

We were treating so a sit down meal anywhere would have been that much or more. We got 1 beef rib, 1 lb pork ribs, 4 sausage links, 1 lb brisket, half lb of pulled pork.

Did you get to pick what and how much of each, provided the weight came out the same?

No, that is what you get with the trough.

I've had Plano and Dallas, Dallas has been better for me. I get extra bark and have a bark bite with my "meat" bite, Dallas trimmed the perfect bark for me, Plano just gave me a bunch of fat.

That's what I was getting at. BBQ is high everywhere, because meat prices are outrageous. Dining in, plate per person might have yielded slightly more food, but still would have cost close to $20/pp.
