In recent years, inexpensive supermarket cheddars—like Cracker Barrel, Cabot, and Tillamook—have taken top honors in international cheese competitions, beating out much-pricier artisan brands. But which of them is THE BEST?
Pretty good article on sharp cheddar.
I still like Tillamooks extra sharp cheddar. Not sure why they didn't include an extra sharp study.

These people make the best jalapeño cheddar I've ever had in my life. The cheddar has bite, and the jalapeño gives it a pretty decent kick. I picked some up while in Fredericksburg, but I understand they've got it in a few stores in DFW.

Disappointed they don't have a real sharp cheddar for me to try.
I tried the caraway and didn't care for it, but I'm not a big fan of carraway seed to begin with. It was too much carraway for my taste, but by that same token that's what I liked about the jalapeño cheddar was the ton of jalapeños in it, which gave it the kick I like.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Havarti is good (both plain and dill).
I really enjoy the Tillamook cheeses. Sam's carries them in 2.5 lb blocks.
Central Market has a cheese festival usually once a year. Right now it's Bacon:
