I went to Lockhart or what ever it is in oak cliff and I was not impressed

That's insane. It's BBQ like it should be. If you like electric baked brisket a la Dickey's, you're not going to like Lockhart.

i liked sonny bryans off inwood. good atmosphere, good local texas beer, and good que.

their bbq beans were terrible though and potatoe salad a little too tart imo

Everything was greasy as hell. I did like the jap sausage but the rest was just OK but not worth the drive and cattle drive of getting the food

damn, i think i found my new spot. some of the best Q and sides ive ever had. they have a bbq bacon wrapped quail that's pretty bomb too.

..and within walking distance from work!

I've had their BBQ before and it wasn't nearly as good as Pecan Lodge, Slow Bone, Hard 8 or even Rudy's for that matter. They may have been a step above Dickie's but first place out of DFW, yeah whatever...

They have a big following I guess. Back in January, Jack from Slow Bone posted this on his facebook page. I thought it was pretty funny.

That is pretty funny, but I'm sure they won ala DFWStangs, by getting every customer they have to vote for them even though their BBQ is mediocre at best...
