  • Good fish recipes?

Had a good day fishing last week and ended up with a few filets. How do you guys prefer your fish?

cedar plank, depending on the fish.

sometimes we do a lime/salsa mix on top with just a little olive oil in the pan

Tuna/Salmon.... keep COLD, slice and eat.

Most others, grill or fry. Don't overcook.

I would just fry them, personally.

Make a foil packet for each fillet, and roll down the sides just to leave a shallow holding area for the butter. Lightly season fillets, add herb butter on top, throw them on the smoker over some apple wood (or your favorite flavor) at 200* and a couple hours later when the intently temp is about 165* your done and ready to eat. Cook time will vary depending on type of fish, e.g. density of the meat and fillet thickness. This is also a great way to cook them whole with the skin still on.

Throw them back or figure out a way to mask the fish flavor.

Take fish. Place in neighbors dumpster (the smell will be worse in your own dumpster) and buy a steak. Fairies.

jk, but I cant stand fish. tasting the bottom of a lake/ocean just gets me something fierce...

Soak them in milk overnight and use lemon juice or lemon pepper in your oil or flour. I don't like a fishy taste either. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Crappie are great just about any way, they are a great tasting fish and any method of cooking works well with them.

Sand bass (white bass) I actually like to coat in a light olive oil and then skillet fry, or blacken on a grill. Be sure to trim all of the red out.
