...you must not live too far from me, I'm out west off of 407 right at the edge of Denton/Wise county (by PropWash).

I found out that the place off of 156 is actually called Lucky's. They are still trying to figure it all out and have had some hell from the locals, but they are open most of the time, unless they run out of BBQ which has actually happened a couple times after lunch. You should stop in there and give it a try, they are all really nice folks. I've been in there a few times already....Ribs are unbelievable, and their beans are kickass too!

Full Custom Gospel BBQ is an extensive and exhausting look at Texas BBQ. Through reviews of BBQ joints, books and articles related to our favorite 'cue, we've created a resource for like-minded carnivores. In short, we are The Prophets of Smoked Meat.

I'm a big fan of Old Town Meat Market in Lewisville. Full service butcher shop that has BBQ during lunch. They make some of the best sausages in DFW. If you havn't been you should try it out.

I quit reading when I saw Red hot and blue, dickeys, railhead and some other shitty ass "bbq" joints. Rudys was crap too, which I hear everyone talk it up and so far I've had 2 40 dollar trips trying everything out and it's ...well, not crap - it is was not 40 dollars worth of food though. Overpriced and so-so.

                            Anyway...
There was a place along 20 I think in Lancaster, TX that was okay.

The best in DFW I've had - has been at Hutchins in McKinney.

Talking store bought stuff here, I like my own stuff best - even when it is bad...which is most of the time.

I think one's called Black's, but I'm not sure.

Do not waste your time at Coopers. I heard great things about it and decided to go. I was very disappointed compared to this place in Burleson called Roscoes Smokehouse. http://roscoessmokehouse.com/ I was just reading about Roscoes and the two guys that own it use to work at North Main BBQ in Euless.

There is also a place called the Branding Iron in Wichita Falls, TX you guys need to try when you drive by.

You really shouldn't go to BBQ places at night, especially pit joints (Baker's isn't a full on pit joint, but they slow cook, so time is always a factor). The best time to go is as soon as they open, since the meat doesn't usually sit on any heat very long then. The tendency with most places is to leave the meat on the pit a little longer & longer as the day wears on. That's not flat out gospel, but it's a good rule of thumb.
