Tejano Salsa...
we used to try different salsas quite often... enjoyed a bunch of them...
but ever since we found Tejano, we haven't purchased anything else!
FWIW, Tejano reminds me of El Fenix and all the other restaurants I've been to with that style of salsa :cool:Last edited by Cooter; 02-08-2011, 11:19 AM.

Hell on the Red hot sauce is the best store bought I've found. It is not chunky, it has a nice puree type mix with small pieces. It's excellent.

I get Tejano @ my local small town Kroger... I would imagine you should be able to get it at Tom Thumb

I've tried every one of the kinds above, and I'm really not too hot on any of them compared to homemade.
If I feel like buying salsa instead of making it, I just go by a mexican restaurant that makes it fresh every day or two. For less than the price of a jar of supermarket salsa, you can get a twice as much(or more) salsa and a huge bag of fresh tortilla chips(fresh chips beat the hell out of any brand at the grocery store). It does depend on the place though, as some mexican joints serve some really awful salsa.2016 Chevrolet SS 6M

I was going to start a salsa thread, but after a quick search.......
I've been meaning to post this for sometime. I typically judge a mexican eatery by the quality of their salsa. The best I've found is a little place in Ft. Worth called La Familia....made fresh daily.
That being said, my alternate favorite is the Marketside (Walmart brand...in the fresh veggie area) Chipotle Garlic Salsa. And before I get railed, it's the freshest....chunkiest....most flavorful salsa I've found anywhere. I'll eat it alone with a spoon sometimes.
If you really like salsa, I highly recommend it.

My wife has started making fresh salsa. We've got like three different kinds in the fridge and we put the stuff on everything
