I'm not gonna lie...the one that used to be by North East Mall back in the day was pretty damn good. Had the big glass windows behind the counter that you could see the pits through.

Hard 8 is my new go to in the area.

North Main. Best time to go is lunch on friday, there is a bigger crowd but its right when they open. I try not to go on Sunday afternoons, thats usually when its too dried out.

I love that site, I've gained a few pounds thanks to it.

Right in line with Dickey's level of "bbq" or at least that's what they call it.

I may need to try those other places. It's kind of funny, every small Texas town I visit I find good to great smoked food. In DFW, it's a PITA to find a good place.

I haven't been there in almost a decade, and not even sure if it is still around... but Risky's in NRH (might be spelled Riskies?) was really good... I also like Randy White's in Frisco.

I completely forgot about it until I moved back, but Marshalls in Carrollton has great BBQ.

I live down the street from there.

Ive only had it once and it didn't seem good to me at all.

I think these are my top 3 in DFW

                          Lockhart
                          Hard 8
                          Fat Cow

I just had lunch there, for brisket ask for moist or you'll get the drier bottom pieces. The ribs were good, and the sausage is a beef sausage, which I like, although it is a bit dry at times.

Their fried okra rocks. I'm not much of a sauce guy, so I typically don't use much if any of it. Potato salad was good mustard/mayo Texas style.

For north Dallas, Plano, Carrollton area, it's the best I've found other than in lewisville.

Where do you like in Lewisville?

I've been to Fat Cow there which is pretty solid - All their brisket is chopped though.

I'll give Marshall's another try and ask for Moist.
