Well SOB. I would have never thought running them through the dishwasher would have fried them. Learn something new every day. My cheap ones took a ton of washes with out failure, that one not some much. I guess I should finish the instructions sometimes. My bad. Still hated programming it, so I was glad it died. Would rather set a temp and walk away. Does it really matter what meat is on there when I know what temps I like?

Best thing I ever bought for my BGE is an electric starter.

      [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Big-Green-Egg-Electric-Starter/dp/B001E27YPM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1440343123&sr=8-2&keywords=big+green+egg+starters&pebp=14403431268 61&perid=1ZQAZ1TKSHV0AXSK95ZE[/ame]

Also Royal Oak Lump is made by same people that make BGE lump.

12.97 for 17.6 pounds. My first bag had bigger chunks than my last bag of BGE and way cheaper.

I ruined a set of probes before I learned, too. Lmao.

I picked up an iGrill a month or so ago and love it. Wait till one of those bed bath and beyond 20% coupons comes in the mail and go get one.

This is from a pork butt I did yesterday with it. First pork butt, turned out great, but I think I should have had the probe in the center, because it was still a little tough right in the middle, rest was excellent. FYI if you have an egg don't drop the plate setter, I got to buy a new one because of that.

Christian picked up a couple of these at Aldi, im going to run and grab a couple myself.

I have two of these cabled probe therms.? Many people are familiar with Trader Joe's which one of the Albrecht brothers own and the other brother has Albrecht Discount more commonly known as Aldi. This therm was on sale at $12.99 at Aldi a couple of months ago so I bought two and they boil...

Smoker temp being too high has a lot to do with why the center was tough. But yes, probe should always be in the thickest part of the cut, no matter what you are cooking.
