  • Nothing on Copper River Salmon?

Picked up 4 lbs today. Making dinner tomorrow and freezing the rest.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Ha! I just posted my PSA 5 minutes ago. Season opened on the 16th. My Tom Thumb hasn't received their shipment yet. I'm ready though. I usually get 10 lbs, portion, vac seal, and freeze it. I might just buy a case this year.

And just FYI - Don't overpay at Central Market, Whole Foods, etc. Last time I checked (2 years ago) it was $49.99 a lb at Central Market. If you have a TT Reward card, it's usually $9.99/lb.

Man, I just throw stuff together. You can blacken it, you can cedar plank it, you can sautee or bake in white wine/butter and any fresh herbs. Possibilities are endless, really.

I bought 10 or 15lbs of this stuff last year and it was too fishy tasting for my personal likings.
Then again...I'm not a fan of salmon in general, no matter how healthy it is.

That's strange, because Copper River salmon is the least fishy of all the salmon I've ever had.

I agree but not strange regarding all fish in general.
Take Tilapia, Halibut, Mahi Mahi, or Orange Roughy for examples.

I'm just not big on the fishy taste is all, hence why I purchased it in the first place(your old posts), but it was still way to fishy for me.

Question I have about planks, are they single use and throw away, or do you cook on it, and wash and re-use them? I've never cooked on one, and I think only ordered a dish once cooked on a plank. It was so long ago, I don't even remember what fish or type of wood it was.
