Worst fucking excuse for a rib I ever had the pleasure of sticking in my mouth. I was forced to go to Chilis for dinner about four years ago, I ordered those nasty ass dog ribs and sent them right back. I got a burger instead and now I now what they do with the rest of the dog. YAK!

I haven't been to Chilis since HS in 04. Place makes my stomach upset 5 minutes after eating it.

Below are my real opinions.

Texas BBQ pit on Saginaw main street is pretty damn good

Is that the place with the giant happy face sign? If so, they're not bad, if you're in the area. Their smoked turkey is pretty money.

The loaded baked potato at Fred's on Irving Blvd in Irving is great. It's a huge spud, loaded with butter, cheese, sour cream, brisket, smoked sausage, onions, jalapenos, and topped with barbeque beans and barbeque sauce. The only downside is, you might die of a heart attack.

That damn loaded potato will be one of the top 3 leading contributors to my eventual heart attack. I love Fred's.

Admittedly, I haven't been in about 4 years, but Riscky's was so terrible I swore I would never step foot in there again. I'll also add, it was a late lunch (1:30ish), which is not the prime time to eat BBQ, because it's been sitting in a hot box drying out for several hours by that point.

lol. Believe it or not, a local Chili's store won a fairly large rib competition this year, and they weren't cooked in a real smoker.

I dig Bartley's in Grapevine.

As much time as I've spent in GV, I'm ashamed to say I've never been there. I'll have to check them out.

While true, it's not as good as the one in Stephenville in my experience. I've been to Coppell location when it was excellent, and I've been when it was so bad that I didn't finish my meal. The pitmaster really makes all the difference in the world.

N Main in Euless is good, but being an all you can eat joint, you HAVE to get there early for the good stuff. If you're going around 2 or later, don't bother. Too dry.

Mike Anderson's is good. Hope you have an alarm, and a CCW.


In general, BBQ in DFW sucks ass in comparison to Hill Country. I mean some places are good, but good is a relative term. I haven't found anyone locally that can compete with the who's who down in Hill Country.

Clarks BBQ in Tioga, fucking awesome.

Clarks was vastly overrated (and overpriced IMO).

Rudy's sucks (everyone like the sauce, which I think sucks and the meat is not good either).

Spring Creek is consistent and the rolls are good

If I'm taking someone not from here it's either Hard8 or BoneDaddys (since you can't beat the food + view lol).

I've heard good things about the one that's in the Dallas Farmer's Market, but I've not tried it yet.

For chain type bbq I really like bakers, always consistent no matter the location. I like off the bone too

For chain, I'll do Spring Creek, which as noted above, is pretty decent and consistent.

Louis Mueller's in Taylor is the best, hands down. I miss living in Round Rock for this reason alone.

Hard Eight in Coppell is hit or miss, I've had a few good and a few bad, on the same meats.

North Main in Euless was damn good the only time I went, and I think we got there at 11am on the dot. Packed house and no parking.

Only been to Fred's once and I got the potato. That was the shit x2.
