We ended up at Conans Pizza, not far from the campus. Pretty Damn good, with the cheese on it being perfect.

Anyone been to County Line BBQ? It's right next to where we're staying. We're planning on Franklins on Friday.

As far as Austin originals, you could try out County Line, but I've never had much success with that.

You could take 360 north to 183 and visit Catfish Parlour. Pretty good fried catfish/shrimp, and CFS is pretty good and large if there is anyone who doesn't want seafood.

Like I said earlier, El Arroyo is on 5th, and the Chicken Chipotle is amazing, burgers are pretty good with choice of white, wheat, or jalapeno bun. I think the buns are Sheila Partin because the white bun is a little bit on the sweet side. It's a nice little twist. Ditch fries are fries tossed on the grill with onions, jalapenos, and soy sauce. Fucking great. I make them at work (sub tots) and the guys love them. I would make sure they use soy sauce because the cook didn't do that last time and I had to ask for it. If you go for dinner, either walk across the street to Mean-Eyed Cat for a beverage or go like 3 doors east and hit up Donn's Depot, which is made partly from a train car and caboose. Both are cool dive bars. Mean-eyed is a Johnny Cash tribute bar, and has a kick-ass Johnny Cash cover band that plays there a lot, Donn's has live music most nights and Donn, who used to play all over the U.S. and had a steady gig in Vegas, plays 2x a week. Most of the time it's really cool crowds in both places. M.E.C. is beer and wine only.

Hula Hut is owned by Chuy's and is located on Lake Austin. I've never been there, but it is very popular.

The oldest Chuy's location is on Barton Springs, just inside MoPac.

Shady Grove hamburgers is just a few doors down on Barton Springs.

Trudy's is down by the UT campus. Walk around the side of the restaurant and sit at the "downstairs bar." Get the Mexican Martini.

Phatso's Cheesesteaks is in a trailer down off of 1st street, I believe. I just tried the one in FW and it's pretty damn good.

Just remembered a place called Uchi. It's supposedly amazing and has garnered national attention. The head chef won "Iron Chef" recently. I've never had an opportunity to go, but it's on my short-list for when I make it back to town.

I'm sure I'm forgetting quite a few places that are near you, and you can find any of the big chain restaurants not too far from where you are if you just want to go that route.

Chuys sold hula hut over a year ago. Michael Young founded chuys, shady grove, and hula hut. Young still owns shady grove.

Brent, after trying Salt Lick BBQ, I think it's better than anything in Dallas that I've tried. I'm anxious to try Franklin's BBQ on Friday.

There is a Stubb's BBQ near 6th street. They have decent BBQ and live music.
