I like almost any tortilla but we have a little mexican taco shop by the newspaper that has home made corn tortillas for $2 and they are amazing.

Tortilleria la Sabrocita in Farmers Branch, I've been trying to tell you people about this place for years. Also best barbacoa I've found in North Texas.

I went there once for the barbacoa and wasn't impressed with it, can't remember how the tortillas were. Might have been just an off day but it was a far drive for me so I haven't tried again

That's what I buy whenever I go camping and I'm picking up groceries at Walmart.

Did you go early or late? I've found that after noon-ish it's not as good, as I expect they cook everything early and by then it's sat too long.

Late of course and I know better but it was a spur of the moment thing and I haven't had a chance to give it another try because of the distance. Hell round trip for me there is over an hour

We bought some flour tortillas from Kroger and they were quite tasty, from what I understand they are home made.

There's a tiny little Mexican meat market in Irving, and they have Igloo coolers of white corn tortillas, and flour tortillas. It's on O'Connor and Rochelle, and it's called La Carniceria Altena. The best I've found recently, for both. The flour is a thin tortilla, which I like. They are made fresh daily, but if you don't get there before 6 on a weekday, they will be out. And you need to be there by noonish on the weekend, or they will be out. They get something like 150 dozen of flour every day, and they sell like fucking hotcakes.

I'm pretty sure these are homemade. Possibly by the owner's wife. They used to be in a clear white bag with no labeling, but over the last month or so, they are now in labeled packaging (tortillas are still the exact same though). I *think* it started out as her making them at home in her kitchen, but has grown when they saw how quickly they were selling out. r
Planning to stop by and pick some up this weekend to try out.

LOl, white people & tortillas. My white & black buddies throw their tortillas in the microwave. I just laugh and tell them you might as well make a burrito with the plastic the tortillas came in..

Typically any mexican meat market has fresh. Ask if they make them fresh or are just heated up.

Yeah their cooked food is ok - varies by location. Their marinaded beef ribs are very good. Their red chicken is abit much, I marinate my own chicken, but do get rib meat from there. You can get all those crazy spices there.
