Granted I've never been to Chicago, but personally I really like the deep dish pizza at Uno's in downtown Fort Worth. I always get the Chicago Classic there.

Might give it another try some time but it was a drive for me coming from the hood.

This place rocks!! I've had there Chicago style pizza a couple of times and it's gooooood. Now I wish I still worked in Plano

IMO, if you don't like this, you like pizza in general, not "Chicago style" pizza. I've always wanted to have one shipped from the source...but haven't done it yet.

what he said. I haven't found or went looking for crust bowl filled with cheese/meat in dallas. But Uno's is probably the closest thing i've eating to Chicago pizza.

Eno's in Bishop Arts District is fantastic, but it's not Traditional Chicago pizza. They call it "Northern Chicago Style". VERY very thin cracker crust.

LOL @ Cici's being better than Brookyln's. That said, Brooklyn's isn't Chicago style.
As long as it's been there (couple of years I think) and as close as it is, I still haven't dined there yet. Now how can a thin cracker crust support a Chicago style pizza?

Hmm... This place is on the way home from work (plus it's on the right side of the highway and I can jump off and back on easily). Might have to give them a try sometime soon.

Is Uno's still in Downtown Fort Worth? I liked them.

I think it sucks out loud, personally. And WAY overpriced for what it is. I wouldn't waste your time.

Like I said, it's "Northern Chicago" style. The kid that owns it (Matt) did a bunch of extensive testing in our place. Their second location should be open by now as well. First off, traditional Chicago style is thick crust, sauce on top, almost casserole-ish. It's also cooked in a deck oven.

Eno's is very, very, very thin. Think I Fratelli's/Campisi's. But the crust is even more thin than that, actually. It's also cooked in a stone hearth oven as opposed to a deck oven. They can't pile all the crap on like they do with a traditional Chicago style. It's almost Neoplitan pizza in style.

first things first. chicago style deep dish is PIE. it should be like 1.5-2" deep and it should be like eating a pie made of pizza. the cheese is usually under the generous amounts of sauce and toppings. too many places get the crust wrong which ruins it and then it's just like silverback described.

completely agree, if you dont like their chicago deep, then you dont like chicago deep so stop eating it!
now, i havent been there in about 2 years but chicago street was the best and most authentic i've had in the area but i have not been to celios. they got the crust right with the proper amount of cornmeal and thickness and it's not a grease sponge at all. their sauce is killer which is huge for me cause im usually a cheese only person. personally it was better than my experience at giordanos (i hear i should have gone to ginos).

i was not a fan of chicago's gourmet.

5th street is great but they are from st. louis and focus on their st. louis style pizza (provel cheese). it was completely unique to me but i like it a lot. i have yet to try their chicago style but probably never will because it's chicago thin.
btw, the toasted ravioli at 5th street is hands down my favorite thing there.

Yes Mo you are correct they are from St.Louis and I never really gave it much thought that they are down the road a bit. They toasted ravioli is so good that you would have thought Tim Tebow made it in the kitchen himself, good shit!
