  • where to go for steak???

Gonna hit up a steak place next Friday. I rarely spend $$ on a place to eat, but I don't mind going once a blue moon. Been to TDB and Bob's in Grapevine. Bob's was fucking awesome, especially the shrimp brochette that bcoop told me to get that wasn't on the menu. That shit rocked!LOL Other thread got me thinking of Raffain's, but I also thought about 3 Forks. Should I stick to Bobs or try one of the other 2?

Capital Grille, I've only been to the one in Dallas and also one in Houston. No idea on the one in Plano/Frisco.

Edit: Shit, just saw your actual question. I've not been to any fo them, I just enjoy Capital Grille too much to risk wasted money.

That's what I don't want to happen. Since my ass doesn't go very often, it's hard to go somewhere else.

Well, that was my problem until there. I tried all the locals and rather just cook at home. CG is the only place I look forward to going for a steak. It's quite pricey but very tasty and not really a snobby place at all. Get the higher end liquor at a fair price and normal drinks are not any worst than Saltgrass.

Check out the reviews (I've never read them) and see what you think. I've not met anyone who did not like it though.

I recommend their Delmonico (either of the 2)...any of the steaks are great. Appetizers and sides are awesome. If you go, try their Lobster Mac n Cheese.

Yea, I hear you. I usually go to the meat market in Princeton and cook the steak at the crib, but don't mind hitting up nice steak joint. I wouldn't mind trying another place. I'll read up on that place you mentioned. I'm gonna get flamed.............but I don't like lobster. LOL

Capital Grille is the shit! That said, you know Bob's GV won't disappoint. They have a wagyu tomahawk on special right now. $60 for 22oz. I paid $95 for the same exact cut @ The Ranch in Las Colinas a couple weeks ago. They also have the bone in filet on special.

I love the fillet at Ruth's Chris. I don't much care for the stuffy atmosphere there, but the steak is great. And it's great at every location, very consistent.

                      You're not alone.

To me there isnt any real flavor in a lobster. Over-priced IMO.

And cooking steaks at home is my preference. People brag about steak houses all the time, but I havent eaten one at a steak house that tasted better than one Ive grilled at home.

You are eating at crappy steak houses then. You can't duplicate what a good steakhouse does at home. It's just not possible. There is no replacement for 1500-1800 degrees worth of heat.
