    Frisco, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk announced today that Head Coach Marc Crawford has been relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately.

    “I would like to thank Marc for the hard work he provided to the Dallas Stars over the last two seasons,” said Nieuwendyk. “We wish him the best in the future.”

    Nieuwendyk is meeting with the Dallas media at 3 pm. The Stars will post the video and audio on DallasStars.com later this afternoon.

    That didn't last too long.

    I don't know anything about head coaches in hockey but is there someone ready to replace him or possibly after playoffs a contract up?

      i don't get it.......... what the fuck was he supposed to do? ownership had no money for free agents so all he had to work with were a bunch of kids.

      i thought he should have been coach of the year before Burrish and Richards got hurt. lose those two veterans and the kids got exposed. not to mention your goalie being overworked.

        Hose job for sure... Anyone remember around the 1st of the year they were in second place? I can't imagine they are going to get any big name coaches in here. Crawford is a great coach and them giving him the chickenwing won't help their rep when it comes to hiring a new body...
