Who all here plays? I am in a $200 league this year and I have been tearing through the stats these past few weeks. Who are ya'll looking for as a good pick up this year?

I think Arod will be a great early 2nd round value and there are some definite sleepers out there.

These are the prospects I have been high on up to this point (it's a first year, keeper league) and the round I am looking to pick them up in. Mind you, these aren't top tier players right now but I think they have high ceilings.

I think all in all the A's will have one of the most under rated staffs in baseball and I think the White Sox will be a team that comes out of the woodwork.

    Pitchers -
    Matt Cain - (8-10)
    Jeremy Hellickson - (9-15)
    Gio Gonzalez - (6-10)
    John Axford (10+)

    Catchers -
    Jesus Montero (8+)

    First Base -
    Freedie Freeman - 1B - (10+)
    Billy Butler (10+)

    Second Base -
    Neil Walker (10+)
    Gordon Beckham (10+)

    Shortstop -
    Ian Desmond (7+)

    Third Base -
    Chris Johnson - HOU (12+)

    Outfield -
    Mike Stanton (8+)
    Michael Bourn (10+)
    Will Venable (15+)
    Sun Soo Choo (7+)

I went ahead and pulled the homer move and picked up Murphy off of waivers and dropped Venable.

It looks like we did the opposite and you paid a premium for pitching and picked up position players in the later rounds. That will have it's benefits and drawbacks but you look set.

In a month or so I'd shop one of your third basemen, maybe in a package, to try and sew up a solid middle infielder or possibly a top tier closer.

I'm guessing you got good value on Manny and Hamels, making them good picks. Butler should hit for good average but keep an eye out for people to emerge on the waiver wire that will provide some long ball power from first.

            Thanks for the tips.
This is my first time playing fantasy baseball. I actually got Manny off waivers a few days ago, was just looking at Jamey Carroll or Scott Rolen today. I'll probably wait until the season gets going to see where I need help.

If you couldn't tell I'm a Phillies fan, for better or worse it played a role in some of my picks.

That's not a bad team to pick from when it comes down to it. They'll be playing in the post season this year without a doubt... hopefully I won't eat my words in 7 months, but all signs are pointing towards it.

why is Fransico Liriano not mentioned alot this year? Looked at the rankings and I thought he was lower than expected?

He's not exactly a workhorse. He has had Tommy John and last season was the first year he went over 140 innings in a season. It's the whole risk vs reward deal.
