Yes, really. I don't like everything he has done (rule changes), but the players are the ones pushing for it! They are also the ones pushing for higher fines (see the Brady Rule).

I just don't think he's even a thousandth of a percent of the slimebag douche that Stern is. Goodell is doing what he thinks is right for the players, owners, and the league. Stern is a smarmy, crooked, cocksucker.

So whose side are you on re: the NBA, the players or owners?

This isn't a set-up, by any means. I was pretty ambivalent about the NFL situation until I read your (and others') opinions on the matter, and more of the facts. If the lockout happens (very likely), with whom do you assign a majority of the blame? The players for being greedy, the owners for being greedy, Stern for seemingly only looking out for the owners (wanting to guarantee $10mm/year)?

I dont know if its been said already but the NBA has cancelled all 43 preseason games. I think this is a sign that a deal wont get done before the season begins.

To be perfectly honest, this is the one and only article I've even read on the matter. I don't pay near as much attention to basketball as I do football. I'm a lifelong Mavs fan, but everything else stops for me when it's football time. So really, I'm not informed enough about all the issues to even form an opinion.

I've slowly started to lose interest in the NBA in the last few years.

NBA Commish David Stern announced that the rest of the NBA Preseason Schedule has been cancelled. Also said that if a deal isn't done by next monday that the first two weeks of the NBA season will be cancelled.

I follow NBA more than anything and this fucking sucks. I've never liked Stern and he has always been about himself throughout the league. I wish he'd leave, hell a majority of the NBA itself doesn't care much for him either.

I watch the NBA, but I lose nothing if they do decide to lockout the entire season. I have the NFL and college football on the weekend to watch, and soon college basketball starts. Once the football ends in the first weekend of feburary I have nascar to watch a week later.

If I was in charge of this situation, id put everyone that matters from the owners union and the players union and put them in a room and lock the door. You can't come out of this room to eat, crap, drink, etc until a deal is in place and you both agree to the terms.

I hope they cancel the season. I hate the traffic downtown on game nights.
