The movie may have been horrible, but there were still some choice lines.

Disagree. A clown that doesn't know anything about baseball detracts from all the awesome stories and insight into the game that Grieve has. You're talking about a guy that's been with the Rangers since they moved to Texas and played for and learned from, among others, the greatest hitter of all time.

I don't give a fuck how long he's been with the Rangers. Outside of baseball, i don't think he knows the difference between his ass and a hole in the ground, Lewin was very good at filling dead air, TAG will just sit there. And it didn't help any that TAG hardly ever knew what Lewin was talking about when he quoted movies or made a joke.

and i'm not sure where you get that Lewin doesn't know anything about baseball.

Lewin's jokes are usually dumb, and he's said many things over the years that have shown that he doesn't have a strong understanding of the rules or theory of the game.

LOL, Chris Davis grand slam. Hard to hate on this guy, but he's been lighting it up in sprint training.

He always looks good in spring training and at triple A. The major league pitching is not as easy.

Kinda like Dennis Miller with Monday Night Football. I swear they gave him notecards to read off of. Reminds me of the SNL skit with the kid repeating "That'll move the chains."

Would have been better off using John Madden sound clips.

                So glad baseball is back.

LOL, I went to a football game at Hebron in high school, and every single time Hebron got a first down, the PA announcer said that. Not so much when our team did, though.

He hit off Major League pitching before they figured out he couldn't hit anything but a fastball. Like I said the last time they called him up and he had a few hits, I won't believe it until he shows he can hit for more than a few weeks (not in spring training, either).

Maybe you just didn't know what he was talking about?

I made mention of this a week or so ago. Hardline had Ron Washington on for quite a while, and he said really only 3 players have stood out for going above and beyond at spring training, and Davis was one of them. If he can keep it up, he'll be a hell of a first baseman.

He's done this before and Ron has said similar things about him before. I don't think anyone is questioning his work ethic or potential; he's an outstanding defensive player and a great fastball hitter, but that alone doesn't cut it, especially in the AL. The Rangers will have a lot of flexibility at the corners and DH this year and if he's going to prove useful then he needs to have similar flexibility. But I agree, he'll be a HUGE asset to this team if he can figure out how to hit in the Majors.

Yeah. He looks like he could be a great player and I'd like to see him earn a spot, but until he's hitting .275+ at the All-Star break, I'm not falling for it. His glove and ability to hit the fastball are, IMO, the only reason they keep giving him a chance. He started off hot when he came up, was killing the ball, and then the pitchers figured out how to pitch to him. He went from the hottest start to setting the record for fewest at bats to reach 100 strikeouts or something ridiculous like that.
