  • Big XII Basketball Tourney- 2011

Didn't see a thread for this. It's already in progress...

    Any predictions?

Baylor and OU are on right now, KXTA. One of the Baylor starters is on the bench due to a "pre-enrollment violation" involving his mother during high school. He is thought to be eligible for the next game. Wonder if OU had anything to do with the timing of the violation coming to light. Oh, and if you missed the tranny cheerleader, (s)he's at this game.

My prediction is that if Texas continues to falter, KU walks away with the whole shabangabang, AGAIN.

Absolute bullshit on Perry Jones being ruled ineligible for this game. Cam Newton played an entire season while under investigation, Ohio State's players played a goddamned motherfucking bowl game, and Perry Jones' mother commits an unverified, non-institutional violation and he's ruled ineligible 30 minute before the game? Absolute fucking bullshit.

From what I understand of the situation, AGREED. Those two exact examples came to mind. I went to work out, so I'm not sure if they said anything else about it...but yeah. Crock of shit.

This is the big, bad NCAA, remember? They couldn't do anything about Cam Newton because he didn't know about what his father was doing, remember? They only hit USC so hard b/c they know that USC can handle that and it still gives the illusion of strict enforcement.

3 loans to his mother from a family friend that they've known since Perry was in 6th grade who just happens to be an AAU coach. Less than $1000 total and the loans were paid back within 2 weeks.

Wouldn't ever happen to a big school, but they've got no problem making an example of the smaller schools to put on a face for the public.

Quit bitching like Baylor is part of the WAC. That's all you do lately. If Baylor was shooting for a #1 or #2 seed, Jones would not have gotten in trouble, just like Newton didn't. It sucks for him, but that's the way it is.

Lol, fucking please dude! Suddenly a team's competitive standing should determine how the NCAA handles the violations regarding their players? I'd like to see where that little gem exists in the NCAA's bylaws.

And it's not like they were completely out of contention. A good showing in the Big XII tourney, especially with Nebraska's loss and a Colorado loss in the 2nd round could have put the Bears firmly into the tourney.

So you believe if Auburn already had 2 losses and clearly no shot at a BCS bowl when Newton's scandel came about, he still would've been allowed to play? I don't.

And i'm not saying the teams standing SHOULD determine the actions of the NCAA, but it does.

Missouri is currently getting the shaft via officiating. They're trying to get back into the game, but the zebras won't let them.

The fact that A&M is still ranked has me baffled. Their only quality wins were against teams barely ranked inside the top 25 that are either hanging on to those rankings by a thread, no longer ranked, or wildly overrated (KSU, Temple). Add in 'bad' losses at Nebraska and Boston College, 2 'almost' bad losses to Baylor and I just don't see it.

I dunno. I just got cable and internet recently, so I haven't been able to keep up with sports as much as I would like. Definitely looking forward to the semi's tonight. KU at 6, UT at 8:30, I believe.

Oh yeah, props to OSU! Almost took down KU. I bet UT/A&M would have loved that.

Personally, i wouldn't want Texas to win the big12 tourny without beating KU to do it.

Didn't they already beat them once?

Yep, but never in the big12 tourny. Especially not when it was for the championship

Yeah, it would definitely mean more since they let those 3 games slip and let KU take the lead for the Big XII.
