I guess you've already forgotten about that '04-'05 hockey season that never happened.
Fair enough, but compare owner/player salaries in comparison. Additionally, it can be argued that hockey is just as tough as football. The players did deserve a bit more although I still did not like it. It was a major hit to the sport as well.
Plus, I remember the strike or whatever in 93....I believe that was the year that Doug Williams opened the door for all black folk in sports...I think that was the quote.
Edit: guess it was 87.

LOL @ anyone thinking any pro sport can be considered a "true team sport."
BRING OUT THE SCABS! I'll still watch. Fuck it. I mean it's football...
Ever watch hockey? Ever watch football?
As an example, in football your team can be down 100 points and defensive guy makes a semi-decent tackle - you'd think he just won the super bowl.
In hockey their stats/other items tend to be interconnected. Not to mention they play both sides (off/def), they don't celebrate as much when losing. They will if it gets them within a goal or tied - but a lot of times it's just 1 or 3 or 2 goals needed.
To me there is a clear difference between the team feeling between football and hockey. Hockey has it's divas too for sure, (Modano) just not as many. Just like football has plenty of decent players who care about the team as much as themselves. Just don't see those players on camera as much.

Hockey is boring. Too much like soccer. I'll watch some of the playoffs and cup games, but that's it.
I don't see how they cry about not getting paid enough, considering for their entire lives they played the sport for free, because they love the sport.

Modano was a diva? How so?
That is a discussion I'd prefer to have over beers. The only thing I'll qualify is to me his diva-like behavior started after being removed as captain.
I just don't want to type up the 40 paragraphs explaining myself, I hope you understand.

Eh, it's cool. I've watched like 3 hockey games in my life but know a lot of Stars/general hockey fans, and I've always understood that he was a team-first guy.
My question about the lockout is if the NFLPA decertified and basically dissolved so the players could sue, wouldnt that mean the owners now could order the players in to work. Then would they (the owners) would have full control of how many games, where all the money goes to, etc since there was no NFLPA to object?

I don't think it's that simple.
