The Texas Rangers shored up their bullpen with the acquistion of right-hander Koji Uehara from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for pitcher Tommy Hunter and infielder Chris Davis.

In 43 appearances and 47 innings this season, Uehara posted a 1.72 ERA with a 0.70 WHIP. The Orioles receive Davis, a 25-year old left-handed bat with 3 home runs in 77 plate appearances this season as well as Hunter, who will likely step into Baltimore's starting rotation. Last season, the 25-year old went 13-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 23 starts.

If not, at least he'll fit in.

He was inconsistent and in the playoffs couldn't put guys away. He jumped out ahead of batters 0-2 or 1-2 and the fought and fought and fought until they drew a walk or he made a mistake.

MLB gameday says "Delayed - Ceremony"


Edit - Reading the twitter feed it looks like it's a ceremony for Robbie Alomar and they were giving away a bobblehead. There are something like 50,000 people packed in there. Some of the twits are saying that a lot of people just showed up, got the bobblehead and are now leaving before the game even starts.

Bell is a good closer but would have just been a rental. I think Adams is under control for a year or better - he's also younger.
