And now the Rangers have a modest 3 game winning streak and have won 5 of their last 7. It was easy to predict they'd start scoring runs (and winning) again once Cruz and Hambone returned to the lineup. Now if they can just lose the rest of the division over the next few weeks and coast into the playoffs again. Seems really weird to say about the Rangers.

I'm not so worried about the A's, but the Mariners are starting to click and while I don't think they're going to seriously compete for the division lead, I do think they'll be a pesky annoyance.
They Rangers are in good shape right now, though. The bats have finally come around, like you said, and the starting pitching has been solid enough to this point. The bullpen is going to make or break this team, though; something has to be done before the trade deadline about getting a real arm or three in the bullpen.

And how about Young taking out Elvis for a few days? I guess that's one way to get some more playing time.
They have almost zero pitching talent coming up from the minors or off the DL anytime soon. Webb looked terrible in Frisco yesterday, Hunter's balls still hurt, Feldman's knee is still bothering him and O'Day hasn't made any progress. Martin Perez and Justin Miller could potentially help later in the season but yeah they need some pitching now.
Davis and Borbon actually have some trade value, use it! Boston also seems to always fall in love with our catchers, if Salty got hurt all of a sudden they'd probably trade Teagarden for Jenks! Especially if we threw in Davis.

I just noticed that Oliver has a 2.45 ERA, he can't hold runners for crap but at least he isn't letting anyone he puts on base score. Harrison is scratched right now and Bush is starting. In his two starts this year he has a 2.57 ERA, maybe it'll be okay.
