Nice win against a rival tonight. Davis did stink it up. At least his swing is more compact these days. He used to swing so hard, he looked like a cartoon where the batter would spin into the ground from swinging. Maybe once he gets his first hit, he'll relax a bit.

All I've ever said was that he did very well in spring training, and seemed like he made some mental/attitude adjustments from his time playing in the offseason, and that I'd like to see him get a chance. I believe I even said in this very thread that if he got a chance and blew it, you'd never hear a word about it again from me. As far as I know, his chance was last night (I didn't watch the game, nor am I aware of him getting any other playing time than last night). So he had 4 at bats, and didn't hit anything. That's fine. You all won't hear a word about it again.

Wasn't it the exact same story last year? They were talking about this on the Ticket the other day. Excellent home team, and average if not sub par road team. Then they went in to all the different reasons this is the case.

I don't get it either. Lose a center fielder and bring up another infielder, doesn't make any sense. Obviously the kid is talented but he hasn't shown it at the MLB level yet and probably never will with the Rangers. He doesn't fit in, trade or release him and give someone like Engel Beltre a chance.

I'm sure they are scared of him becoming another Travis Hafner, Carlos Pena or Adrian Gonzales. Our farm system has produced some pretty substantial first basemen, he's no Teixeira but I don't want to trade him for a water cooler and watch him hit 40 home runs this season either.

Coop, I'm sure he'll get a few more chances other than last night. It's just that his first and last at-bats were awful. He swung at 55' inside curve balls for both 3rd strikes. It seems like he's at an 0-2 count before he even gets to the plate! How can a guy hit .362 at ANY level, then can't hit a bull in the ass with a snow shovel? He makes Cerano (Major League) look like Ted Williams!
