Rangers 2011 season thread

Looks like UPS finally showed up with bats that work. The bats used in Game 1 were past their sell-by date.

That was refreshing to see. They didn't show the first game down here in Waco, but the score updates on my phone were discouraging enough.

And Napoli hits a yack as I type this. 7-1 Rangers.

The first game was shown on TXA21 affiliates - which apparently is one of our BS local channels out here in Abilene. It took my Dad, brother and me a little while to find it after the Braves game went final(Phucking Phillies-). When we did find it, it wasn't even HD.


EDIT: Dan Bishop, GE Project Manager, is an Orioles fan.

It could be worse; down in Austin they regularly show Astros games over Rangers games. They'll occasionally have an alternate channel with the Rangers on, but even here in Waco I get to see more games than my buddies down there. We're looking in to splitting an MLB.tv subscription, though.

I don't understand the astros following in central Texas either. Before last year, when I walked around in my rangers shirts and hats, people looked at me funny in temple. This last visit had a few more rangers fans popping up around town. My wife is from temple and said she had never seen a mavs game until I watched it.
