Mavericks after Pistons' Prince, Nuggets' Smith
By Mark J. Miller
There are only a few hours left before the NBA trade deadline this afternoon, but the Dallas Mavericks are going to push right up against it and "make last-ditch trade runs" at Tayshaun Prince(notes) of the Detroit Pistons and J.R. Smith(notes) of the Denver Nuggets, according to ESPN. Both have expiring contracts.
"Dallas isn't optimistic about acquiring either player," the site reports.
Since Caron Butler's(notes) season came to an end at the start of the year, the team has been interested in these players, the site notes.
The Pistons have said no to all requests for Prince, though, ESPN notes.
