I'd rather lose a few games a season and have respectable kids and coaches at my alma mater than the Baylor shit. I bet tcu feels a lot better about the past three seasons now. I know I do. Texas Tech may not be a ncaa football powerhouse but it's not embarrassing either.
Your comparing a coach that *actually* raped people vs. Briles who *may* have mishandled cases from victims who never should have approached a football coach in the first place. Big difference. Some sources say football team DID report these, and athletic director did nothing.

Kingsbury is good friends with Briles & was Brile's QB too. I'm sure if he didn't have an obligation to stay quiet he would vouch for him.

TCU can feel however they want. Even with the mishandling of these few cases I'm sure Baylor is a cleaner, safer campus by far.

Let's not ignore the elephant in the room that most of you just want to watch the school whipping your alma mater's asses burn. It wasn't because Briles hired shady people or ran a "win at all costs" program, Briles was just the best coach out there. He gave second chances like many other coaches and got burned for it.

Honest truth - It sucks this happened. It sucks a few student screwed up the good thing we had and our administration wasn't smart enough to put some oversight on campus. I hope this never happens to your favorite team. It's a crappy feeling. Football+rape happening everywhere, it's only a matter of time before the next bubble pops...

I'm not embarrassed, I'm angry at the school's policies, the administration, the board of regents, and the crappy few students who were given a great thing and screwed it up.

I'm still proud of the team & our accomplishments. I know we won our games the right way with good students. Still a season ticket holder and still planning to be at every game.

My guess is you would have a slightly different opinion if your daughter was one of the victims. Baylor is one of the most hypocritical "religious " universities out there. But if you play sports well you get a free pass.

Sure, it would be, but that's not the case for me or anyone else in this argument. I would be seeing red and not thinking straight and would want someone's head, but that's not exactly logical either...

Baylor is not "one of the most hippocritical religions universities out there". That's just not a fact at all. SMU for example, allows alcohol and men/women in the same dorm rooms. Baylor still has separated dorms, curfews, and no drinking / no sex policy in place. They can't control off-campus behavior.

The "no pre-marital" sex stance is actually part of the problem. It's not that Baylor was Hippocritical of it's religious beliefs, it's that they were in denial BECAUSE of them. It's a whole lot more complicated to report a rape if you can be kicked off campus for "pre-marital" sex...

Rape happens if your a religious school or a state school in the projects. As we see here, it's how you handle it...

It is very true. One instance for you. Baylor does not support gay students yet they took no issue with Britany Griner and her lifestyle choice because she was a bad ass at women's basket ball. My wife attended Baylor for undergrad and from what she saw of the university and its students I think hypocricy is the perfect term. We all see you have your view that cannot be swayed. You are a Baylor homer, that is fine. But it does not make this entire situation any less of a discrace for all parties involved.

Can't resist. Completely incorrect statement. A quick google search would show you otherwise...Griner definitely felt pressure to hide the fact that she was gay. It didn't come out she was gay until she was gone...only suspicions before that. She wrote in her book how discriminating it was.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

              Sort of back on topic...

If everyone can stay healthy this year and no other big shakeups occur, I'll predict we win 7-8 and knock at least one of your favorite Big12 teams out of title contention.

Nice, I just wouldn't put money on that prediction if I were you. Your putting us worse than Kansas/Iowa State and we only lost 2 quality players. Also, we have 2 quarterbacks returning healthy. That means we now have more than zero. If Grobe leaves the team alone and let's Kendall Briles keep calling offense, I think we still have an excellent team.

One thing I know for sure...we'll be seeing double the amount of sexual assault prevention advertisements between drives.

I'm not a Baylor fan but I can think of Billings, Coleman, Drango, Oakman, and the 900 lb TE as notable losses. I can agree that only Billings and Coleman were quality players. The team might be able to have a decent showing this season but with the 2016 and 2017 recruits jumping ship the program will fall apart pretty quickly.

Maybe in the short term, but I'd make a guess that we might be one of the highest paying schools currently seeking a coach right now. Couple good options out there. Might turn it around before our current recruit package runs out. Teaff is still influencing decisions and may pick a winner.
