You're telling me that if he would have taken that 1 year, his quality time with his child would have forever been destroyed with no hope of redemption, and that his child would have never known his father, or any love from him?
1 fucking year, 13 million, retire, enjoy child's life. Nothing missed in that 1 year, a shit load gained.
The kid is 11 years old. What's going to happen between 11 and 12 that would just be relationship crushing for them?
Shit.sigpic

Good for him. He didn't make a big deal about his difference with management, he just went his own way.
I fully understand the management's take and the father's take on this. They both handled it well.

Shit.
I mean... devoid of any logic.
The kid is at a pivotal age. The dad is worth $35 million. He wants to spend time with his kid.
This was probably the straw that broke the camel's back, not the only straw

Read the article, I just have a difference of opinion than you guys do.
I'm aware he's also home schooled, but by a private tutor. The only thing I haven't found yet is what the mother does. Any info on that? Also, wasn't this a trend of his for the last 6 years or so? Bring the kid to work/training i mean. I don't see where a 1 year break is such a terrible, horrible, child relationship destroying thing.sigpic

Article says the kid is 14. Your opinion is that he's 11. Ok.

You can't put a price on time with your kids. Every minute missed is a minute you can't get back.
I spent my son's younger years working 2 and 3 jobs, trying to provide and make a comfortable life for us. I'm very proud of what I've accomplished, but I'd give it all back for time with my son. This may be one of those things that someone without kids just doesn't comprehend.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Originally posted by DennyWhat does his mother have to do with shit? It says nothing about his involvement with the team because his mother isn't able to help with watching him. You're creating a problem that isn't there, Hillary.
You guys act like he just did some kind of saintly service. He was probably just ready to retire and thought this would be a good way to go out and look good doing it.
it's 1 fucking year, for 13 million. Nothing was going to negatively affect the little guy by taking such a super short break. It's not like he would be disappearing and have no contact.
He's had a very thoroughly involved father/son relationship, this would not have hurt anything.

IMO, he didn't opt for "quality time", he's had several very involved years of that. He was ready, the job just happen to give him something he could use as an out, and he took it.
This guy didn't stop an asteroid from crashing to the earth, he just had some good cards fall in his lap and used them.sigpic

He walked away from $10 million just to throw a gentlemanly "fuck you" to one guy... I'd say he's definitely not money hungry.
Tip of the hat to him
