So about that home field advantage the Baylor people said didn't make a difference last year?

Explain how it did? Do you mean how TCU brought a torrential downpour? It was 14-14 and there was no prolonged "momentum" that entire game...I don't see a correlation.

Telling our 3rd string receiver turned QB to play a good team in a torrential downpour was certainly a tall order. Lots of factors...and lots of plays where it easily could have been a BU win...

I'm going to laugh really hard if "Cortana" is the computer "expert" this idiot is using for his picks.

No I mean how Baylor won last year with a last second field goal at home yet Baylor fans claimed they deserved to win the championship based on that single game instead of the entire body of work. Completely dismissing the home field advantage. In Waco at a brand new facility.

My office is about 3 miles from McLane Stadium so I have to deal with Baylor folks every day.

Good luck with Texas this weekend! TCU beat them 50-7 in Fort Worth so Baylor should get 60+ points.

The torrential downpour effected both teams, so that's a wash (pun intended).

TCU is more banged up than Baylor. Boykin was playing with a sprained ankle, hurt it again at least once during the game, and was limping and hobbling around the field. He's a huge part the TCU running game, normally, so him being immobile hurts the team a lot. Their best receiver (Doctson), who is one of the very best in the country, was also out (and has been since before the OSU game). That is probably one of the biggest hits to the team. Their defense has been playing with a skeleton crew all year, so much so that they have second and third string defensive backs playing the linebacker position.

Refs aren't perfect, but if you watched both games closely, they both had more BAD calls that went in Baylor's favor. Last year it was literally the game changer. There is your home field/home cooking advantage.

Even though no one scored in the second half, I still found it to be a very interesting game. I'm digging the rivalry.

Agreed it sounds contradictory. I just meant the poor dude got everything and the kitchen sink thrown at him and it looked like that was too much for him. I still think Baylor could have gotten it done in sunny weather though.

That's what I meant -- The rain negated any home field advantage...there was almost no momentum on either side the entire game.

TCU made a play in overtime to win it. Conditions were awful for both teams (injuries and weather) so it's unfortunate we didn't get to see a true full-strength battle. Next year!

Next year, indeed! TCU had a lot of freshmen playing this year, so that's a good sign. I worry about the QB position with Boykin leaving.

I wouldn't worry too much, Kenny Hill is eligible next season and he's very good. Even if he doesn't pan out though Sawyer and Muehlstein would be starters on most teams.

So if any of you ever drive through West and stop at Slovacek's you've probably noticed their different animal statues. Lots of places sell them in central Texas. Some of them are made into grills as well.

The week before Baylor and TCU played they got a giant bear statue and a couple of horned frog ones. The frog ones were kind of stashed in the back of the display but the giant bear was up front and prominent. As of this morning though that Bear has been shoved back into a corner and the frogs are at the edge of the walkway right in front.

It's very subtle but kind of funny when you notice. They used to have a steer statue in the same place.

BU vs. Texas was the most exciting game of the year! We were doomed when we lost our quarterbacks weeks ago, but this took it to another level! I don't know if anybody in the stadium would have bet on our team winning that game, but damn they sure made it close.
