It was a good game, obviously not the ending I was hoping for since I only really get a chance to see them play once a year, but good nonetheless. Both teams looked pretty good to be honest. It felt like most of the Penguin's shots were from the points relying on traffic in front of Niemi. Niemi saw a lot of shots though and looked super comfortable in net. That was a great pick up for you guys.
It's an exciting time to be a Stars fan, they look like real contenders with the roster they put together over the last couple years and the off-season trades they made are going to make a huge impact, especially down the stretch and in the playoffs.
It's going to be a great season.
A bit of a side note. I noticed that there were quite a few less Pens jerseys this game over the last few I've been to in the AAC, tonight I'd say there were less than 10% bad guy sweaters. Previous games I'd be willing to bet that it was more like 30-40% bad guys. I can't help but wonder if the previous 'Pens fans' were bandwagonning Pittsburgh but now that the Stars are real contenders they are back to being homers.
