I keep seeing there might be a video of him abusing someone. Anyone have any sources other than the Terez Owens site?

Consider the source here fellas - a tabloid sports website.
Do you really think that some jack-ass going by the name of Terez Owens has better sources than Peter King at SI, Adam Schefter/Chris Mortensen at ESPN, and Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk!?
No chance.
None of them even have a single blurb about it.
Given the current climate in the NFL and how things have gone down this past season, don't you think Jerry Jones would be way out in front of this thing doing damage control if there really was even an ounce of smoke to this?

Minnesota will have to determine whether they really want to fight Peterson on this or just let him walk and get some type of compensation for him. He's made plenty of money at this point in his career so that is not an issue. For him, it's winning a championship and doing so in his home state. The Cowboys are obviously primed for that. He wants to be here.
He can hold out on them and try to force a trade or just simply cut him outright. That seems to be his ultimate play right now, but he's at least giving the Vikings a chance to save face and not make it an ugly divorce.
Why do you think Jerry Jones has slow-played re-signing DeMarco Murray? He could have easily gotten a deal done with him by now. He's letting this play out so he doesn't paint himself into a corner by signing a guy with about 1/2 the amount of talent as Peterson has.2011 Mustang GT - California Special - Black/Black - M6 - 3.73's

they don't have a deal because Dallas doesn't want to pay a RB in excess of $4,000,000 per season. Peterson is owed $12.75 next year. You really think Peterson is going to give Dallas a hometown discount worth $8.75/yr? I wouldn't. He is also older, with far more mileage on him.
I'm not arguing that Peterson doesn't want to be here. He does, and Jerry wants him. Hell, I'd love to have him on the Cowboys. That said, this season is proof that cooler heads are prevailing in Valley Ranch these days. There is also more at play and a lot of talk about the Cowboys going after a RB in the first round of the draft like Gurley or Gordon, as they're expected to go later
And as to your first post - Florio is actually reporting the vid.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Given the history of RB's in the NFL that see over 370 carries in a season, he's in for a significant reduction in production this coming season. This is pretty much a historical fact.
Only a select handful of guys were ever able to back it up and even then it started to break them down at a significant rate. He's not in the caliber of players listed there. I'm not saying he's not a good player, but he's not Eric Dickerson, LaDanian Tomlinson, Walter Payton, etc.
He ended up with 392 carries and 57 receptions for a total of 449 touches. That is pretty much the definition of getting run into the ground.
My thoughts are they already made him and offer earlier this year and that is what is on the table and will remain that way. More than likely he'll become a UFA, some team will over-pay him, and the Cowboys will have to seek elsewhere for a RB. Not the end of the world given the caliber of Offensive Line they have now and how fungible the RB position has become in the NFL.
I absolutely think Peterson would give them some sort of discount if he were to be able to get out of Minnesota. He knows that he's got the #'s but no championships to speak of in either college or the NFL that back up his career and puts him into a select group of guys that he wants to be in. That trumps money at this point in his career.
A LOT of people see Melvin Gordon's #'s and their eyes pop out, but take a closer look at who he did that against. It was against pretty mediocre defensive units. When he faced the eventual national championship Ohio State Buckeyes, he got shut down and his team was blown out of the water 59-0. To me, that's the true gauge of how good a player is - against A-Team opponents - not against Bowling Green or a Nebraska team that's not even a shell of it's former self.
Gurley is another story. He was doing that against substantially better quality defenses/players. The problem is that he's damaged goods and who knows when he'll recover and if he'll ever be back to what he once was. Every person is different in how they respond to treatment and recovery in regards to knee injuries. Some people are physical freaks like Adrian Peterson and come back in a ridiculously short amount of time and didn't look like they missed a beat. Others it just kills them and they never return to what they once were.
Personally, if I knew I could get Peterson via either a reasonable trade or he just gets flat out released, I'd sit on it just like they are now. There will be plenty of other players who get released that could be adequate replacements or put into a RB by committee situation. Reggie Bush was released today by the Lions and the Panthers are going to release DeAngelo Williams. Not starters by themselves, but serviceable when put into a tandem and can probably be had for pretty cheap. Ray Rice is also available. Lots of options out there with more to come.
As for the Dez situation, that video was allegedly supposed to be released today and wasn't. Florio and Schefter talked about it today as if there is some sort of smoke there, but nothing that indicated what exactly it was. Apparently is from over 4 years ago and is not anything recent. It stinks of extortion by a former friend. Whatever it may be, he's obviously changed in a drastic and significant way since then and how exactly do you go and punish someone for something that happened over 4 years ago and went unreported? Obviously the person who may potentially have been involved didn't think enough of it to report him or they came to some sort of settlement with Dez over it.2011 Mustang GT - California Special - Black/Black - M6 - 3.73's

NFL Media releases 2011 Wal-Mart incident report involving Dez Bryant

In November, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media rattled off a laundry list of occasions when police were called to the home of Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant. The raw number of incidents — six — was troubling. But the content of each specific instance showed that, in isolation, they were nothing.
As mentioned last Friday, February 20, when I inadvertently let the cat out of the bag regarding the previously worst-kept secret among reporters covering the NFL, Rapoport’s overhyped Dez Bryant rap sheet was the result of a chase for a much bigger prize: The long-rumored video of an incident involving Dez Bryant doing something he shouldn’t have been doing.
Since Friday, much has been written and said about the rumored Dez Bryant video. As it turns out, the NFL was in possession of relevant evidence on the subject several days before I blurted out the existence of the rumor on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.
In a letter dated February 17, the City of Lancaster, Texas police department produced to NFL Media via the Texas Public Information Act an incident/investigation report from July 2011 regarding a police response to the Lancaster Wal-Mart.
The report mentions that an unknown person called the police to explain that a black female was “being dragged from one vehicle to another vehicle” by a black male. The vehicle the woman was dragged from was a Mercedes registered to Dez Bryant.
When a police officer responded, a Wal-Mart security guard explained that he arrived at the scene with the door to the Mercedes still open and a child’s toy on the ground, but that no one was present. Then, two men pulled up in an Escalade registered to Dez Bryant. The two men, Carl King and Christopher Mitchell, said they received a call from the alleged victim, asking them to pick up “her” Mercedes.
Then, a Bentley arrived in the parking lot, with the alleged victim and Dez Bryant inside. The alleged victim claimed that she had an argument with a man named Alex Penson, that she was not assaulted or injured in any way, and that it was “just an argument” with Penson. The alleged victim claimed she was dropped off at a friend’s house, and that she contacted Bryant to pick her up.
The responding officer determined after talking to all parties that there was no offense, and that everyone was free to go.
The report doesn’t mention the availability of Wal-Mart surveillance video, or the contents of it. Instead, it appears that the responding officer accepted the version(s) supplied by King, Mitchell, Bryant, and the alleged victim, and closed the case.
Most if not all Wal-Mart stores have surveillance cameras blanketing the property. Indeed, the longstanding rumor making the rounds among NFL reporters has been not just that an incident occurred at a Wal-Mart parking lot, but that there is video of it.
In digesting the report, keep this in mind: The report makes no mention of the car to which the victim was allegedly dragged. The video may show the other car. The video may show the person doing the dragging, if dragging actually happened. The video may show whatever preceded the dragging of the woman from “her” Mercedes to another car. The video may show the other car driving away.
Eventually, the video is coming out. In the interim, Bryant, Carl King, Christopher Mitchell, Alex Penson (whoever he is), and the alleged victim can expect to be pursued by members of the media for more details regarding what did and didn’t happen in that Wal-Mart parking lot.
