Testing is becoming more random, and being done further away from fight day. People are getting popped left and right. You can add Hector Lombard to the list.

This guy was juicing? NO WAY!

They don't. They can fight outside of the UFC and make more money...

As shitty as the ufc pays, they still make the most money there. Not just from the ufc, but from it being such a popular place for sponsors.

Silva isn't going to have a 6mil payday fighting for ANY other place.

I don't think Silva is going to fight again. Probably will come back for some geriatric match a few years down the road, but I think he knows he's a hundred years old and wouldn't last against the upper tier of fighters. Diaz just replenished his weed money so he's good for awhile.

I suspect silva will be back and claim that he didnt know it was illegal since he was using it to recover from an injury

No other promotion in MMA will pay them what they are getting in the UFC. The purse payouts that the NSAC releases are simply what their negotiated event payouts are. They don't have to disclose any money that the Fertitta Brothers/Dana White give them outside of their purse winnings. It's widely known that major stars get money "under the table" outside of their stated purses. They are also getting as much exposure as possible for endorsement deals in the UFC whereas you'd never get that type of exposure in any other promotion. Bellator? Please. That's on SpikeTV which has a pretty limited male-dominated viewer-base. Fox gets the whole spectrum and has much more of an advertiser base to deal with.

The UFC still hasn't released the buyrate from UFC 183 which is extremely fishy to say the least. It's estimated to be around 600,000 to 700,000 buys which is wayyyyyyy over their estimate. Their January 2015 total buys were more than what they did in August 2014 through December 2014. They had an AWFUL 2014 PPV year and simply couldn't afford to pull Anderson Silva from that card right before the fight. It would have completely tanked.

Just take a look at what was on the line for this one show:

Total Reported Gate (Ticket Sales): $4,500,000

                      Estimated PPV Buyrate (650,000 est. @ $59.99/buy): $38,993,500

                      Total: $43,493,500

That's $43.5 MILLION DOLLARS on the line. THAT kind of money will make you do some shady-ass shit right there. They don't even come close to half of that if Silva gets pulled right before the fight.

Anderson Silva got $600,000 just to fight and an additional $200,000 because he won for a total of $800,000. Show me another promotion where their top guy is making $800k on one fight just for his base salary? Not happening. Those totals also don't include any sponsor money or "fight night" bonuses which the UFC isn't required to disclose to the NSAC. It also doesn't include the percentages they get from the PPV money.

Its reported that the UFC is withholding a $6 million dollar payment from Silva until his eventual punishment is handed out by the NSAC for his positive tests.

The UFC, the Fertitta Brothers, and Dana White are shady as fuck and there's no way around that. They didn't get to where they are being nice guys and choir boys.

The fact that Silva and his group haven't even requested a 'B' Sample test yet tells me everything I need to know on whether he's guilty or not. That would be the absolute first thing I'd be shouting and requesting if I truly thought I was innocent and there was foul play involved. He knows he got caught doping and just gave the "I didn't take anything" standard initial response we've seen from every person who's been caught in sports. I have no doubt his 'B' Sample will test hot as well and he'll be suspended and fined by the NSAC. At his age and this scandal starting to really compound on the UFC, I doubt we see him fight again. He's starting to glow green right now and is well on his way to becoming plutonium. They don't need guys like John McCain coming back after them like he did in the early days and nearly ended the sports' existence here in the US.

I ran across this yesterday afternoon and watched it. It's pretty long, but definitely a VERY interesting interview. Puts things in perspective about how far reaching PED usage really is vs. what major leagues and promoters would have you believe.

Just further lends credence to George's St. Pierre's stance and semi-retirement from the UFC/MMA. It's simply not a level playing field for those who are clean and when you're in a sport where punching someone in the head is how you win/make money, PED's = a weapon in the ring.

I always thought it was shitty how dana white treated his fighters. He's the only game in town, so he knows he can pay peanuts and they will have no choice but take it.

lol@800k to to headline a 43 million event

Remember, the $600k to fight and $200k win bonus he earned is just what is legally required by the NSAC for the UFC to disclose in regards to Silva's fight compensation.

They don't have to report any other "under the table" bonuses that the Fertitta's/Dana White regularly hand out to top talent nor do they have to report any money the fighters receive in regards to their cut of the PPV money.

Silva made more than $800k on that fight. How much more is simply speculation because nobody outside of Silva or the Fertitta Brothers/Dana White actually know.

Those major guys wouldn't keep fighting/coming back if they weren't getting paid a solid amount of money for each fight.

The problem lies in the fact that the little guys are fighting for peanuts and most don't make it big and they really have no leverage as the UFC bought up pretty much any legit competition they had i.e. PRIDE, Strikeforce, WEC, etc.

Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva has failed a second drug test administered by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

So, now it is confirmed 100% that he failed 2 out of the 3 drug tests that were administered to him in relation to UFC 183.

Pissed hot on the 1/9/2015 test

Provided a clean sample on 1/19/2015

                                Pissed hot again on 1/31/2015

Still hasn't requested a 'B' sample to be tested and he's facing the NSAC today. Guilty.
