This would be a bit difficult to implement and balance for the maximum level of competitiveness, but I think this is the best way to improve F1.

    VARIETY

I would suggest putting more mandated specifications on the chassis with the only freedoms allowed being nose cones, front and rear wings, winglets and suspension.

    Allow teams to use:
    - this generation's 1.6L turbocharged V6 with the dual hybrid setup
    - last generations 2.4 V8 with the single electric (KERS)
    - 2 generations ago 3.0 v10 with no electric.

    hell, allow a v12.

the key would be balancing these power units by plotting the max theoretical power output and imposing weight and fuel flow limits.

I would guess the current gen v6 should be the heaviest as the fat powerband from its 3 forms of power allow it to have the a big advantage out of corners.

The v8 with KERS would probably be allowed to flow a bit more fuel and weigh a bit less (-100 lb.)

The v10 may have the highest peak power but lacks down low with no electric or turbo torque fill, thus allow it to use a bit more fuel flow and weigh a bit less (-150 lb).

Tt would result in a symphony of sound and make battles all around the track. I would guess RBR would choose the v8, ferrari the v10/12, and mercedes and mclaren choosing the v6t.

Technically...attendance has done nothing but drop since the track opened. Dropping below 200K will just be a barrier that will raise flags.

I think you engine concept is pretty interesting...but could never happen Because of F1 politics. I think the whole fuel flow restrictions need to relax, and just focus on developing the technology. Let Renault drop out...who cares about an engine manufacturer when there are plenty of them?

Your aero suggestions sound about like indy car, so we will actually get to see how that works out. I'm actually almost as excited about indy this year as I am F1. If F1 loses 2 or 3 teams, then I'm not sure I'll even bother attending the usgp.

I was reading about the blue sauber. Those noses look flat dumb. At least it's not a penis, but it's ugly.

McLarens back to the future is pretty funny though...lol

Anyone else notice that the head on view of the mclaren looks like the female reproductive system?

Mercedes released a photo of the new W06. Looks like they tweaked it to fit the new regulations. No big changes. Interested in what Red Bull does with the nose.

                    Haha...true that.

But I still would rather see them do well than any team but ferrari. RBR got annoying with horner never shutting up, merc and lauda were nothing but whiners whIle Britney is the biggest bitch on the track, massa is a disgrace to williams, and everyone else is broke. Dammit I want this sport to rebound so bad.

I wouldn't say Massa is a disgrace to williams. Yea he can be annoying at times but he did have some bad luck last year. Germany was his fault. But the other wrecks were ones that wasn't.

I don't like vettel cause yea he's good, but how much of his success was because of Adrian Newey?

His whining is his fault (Massa). He bitches after 80% of races.

I like vettel because he's technical. I'm an engineer so I'm biased. But vettel in a car he can control the design of is better than anyone else. If pirelli goes with the wider rears, you will see vettel dominate again. Or if rear down force comes back, you will see vettel dominante again. He made an exhaust blown diffuser look like fucking traction control.
